We raised over £500,000 for Breast Cancer Care!

Our Breast Cancer Care event in the studioWow, we are speechless here at Q Towers which is a rarity! Thanks to all of your support and generosity, our three-hour Breast Cancer Care event, including donations, auctions and product sales, has raised over £500,000 for this fantastic charity! A record-breaking result!

QVC has supported Breast Cancer Care since 1999 and in total we have raised a huge £4 million for this fantastic charity.

Our lovely presenter Alison Keenan was diagnosed with breast cancer in January this year and she says, "Breast Cancer Care is an incredible charity that continues to make a difference to people's lives by ensuring they never face cancer alone. The whole QVC team is incredibly passionate about their involvement, and to have achieved a record donation is greatly rewarding for everyone." You can read more about her time on the night in her presenter blog.

Joe McElderry in the Call CentreAnother record-breaking result for us came from our Joe McElderry auction prize, where customers could bid for Joe to come and perform in their living room with up to 20 of their friends.

Mrs White from Liverpool placed the winning bid of £6,350, which is the highest single bid ever recorded for a QVC auction. So congratulations and many thanks to her – she wanted the prize for her and her daughter who has recently come out of hospital.

Joe also performed on the night and said, "It's absolutely amazing to raise so much money for this fantastic charity by doing something that I love. I'm really looking forward to performing for Mrs White and her daughter Helen – we're going to have some fun! Thanks to everyone who helped make it a record breaking year for Breast Cancer Care!"

Claudia, Ali K, Claire and Craig in our Call CentreWe also spoke to the Chief Executive at Breast Cancer Care, Samia al Qadhi, who said, "We are absolutely thrilled with the success of QVC's 'Be Aware, Show You Care' broadcast this week. It's a phenomenal achievement to raise over £500,000 and a fantastic way to celebrate the 12th year of our partnership.

QVC has raised over £4 million in that time for Breast Cancer Care, and that money means we can continue to provide our free support and information services for the 50,000 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at QVC for their support, enthusiasm and dedication to the partnership."

Congratulations to everyone at QVC for their brilliant Breast Cancer Care programme. I watch every year and continue to be moved by the stories told by the lovely models, men and women. This year I must admit was even more moving, listening to the speech made by the lovely Ally Keenan, and all she has endured. My heart goes out to her and everyone suffering with this dreadful illness. My mum, her 3 sisters and my maternal gran were all victims of breast cancer. I also lost my husband to another nasty form of cancer, so I can understand the torment the families endure too. Once again, thankyou QVC for helping to highlight the need for donations for causes like this.

Fabulous evening and what a result in terms of the goodwill, pleasure, emotion, love, empathy, brilliance and awe inspiring courage. The money total was great too and will be so very well used. Thanks so much to everyone at QVC, the generous suppliers and of course to Ali K who was so very spectacular, gracious, honest and really stunning. What an inspirational lady. Let’s hope that she will soon be able to return to QVC where she really belongs as she has been missed so very much. Thanks QVC for a wonderful and inspirational evening.

I sadly missed this special show as I am in hospital ,but please know that my thoughts where with you all, and I am so proud at the money raised by QVC and the people who participated in the evening events . I am a massive fan of QVC so to miss this was very sad ,I have just watched Joe closing the show and I had tears in my eyes a beautiful song sung with a beautiful voice.. Thank you Joe May I also wish love to Alison Keenan in her brave battle against this disease and also to Anica who I believe is also battling breast cancer . My own battle with illness this year has been a massive struggle , but thanks to the care and support of the Dr’s and Nurses who kept me alive for 9 weeks on life support In two ITU units I beat the odds .We are so lucky to have so many people dedicated to looking after us… And during this stay in hospital I have met ladies with Breast cancer and all are so brave as is everyone with any form of cancer . Thanking QVC for the wonderful work they do .
    Best Wishes SarahJane Lambert

Absolutely brilliant, QVC! It makes me so happy to spend money on beautiful QVC items, knowing that the proceeds are going to support a wonderful cause. I always look forward to watching the BCC Event show and was truly moved by Alison Keenan’s story and sad to hear that your lovely model, Amica, is also going through the same battle of her own. My thoughts and prayers are with you two ladies as well as with all of you out there suffering with cancer. And, once again, to QVC, all of the companies that donated products, the people that donated their time and energy, and to those of you that donated the fabulous ‘live auction’ and ‘QVC online auction’ prizes, thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for all the amazing work you did to raise this staggeringly huge amount of money for BCC! Well done!!!

Congratulations to QVC for hosting such a wonderfully worth while event. Every one looked a.m.a.z.i.n.g !!!
Ali Keenans speech touched my heart, as i recall friends either going or have been through ” the dreaded treatment “.
Well done to every one who participated, presenters, models , companies who donated lovely goods , us viewers who donated money, and the ” stars “.
However, in my book it’s the models and Ali Keenan who were the true ” STARS ” of the night !!!!
keep well and please spare a though for others who are going through all types of cancer !!!
