Was that it, then?!

Dale and DarrenAll the months of planning and arrangements and it all seems to go by in a flash!

Silver Fox, here wishing all the readers of BOTF a very Happy New Year! I also hope all your planning paid dividends and you enjoyed a great Christmas also.

Thank you, as always for your comments and apologies to Galileo, sorry, Gaileo – it was the speed of the text crawl you see! I didn't really catch it and therefore didn't twig it was you!

For those of you perplexed at the above – I was presenting a jewellery show on New Year's day morning and Gale texted in – I called her Galileo! Shall I do the fandango?

Anyway, I had a lovely Christmas and birthday with my family, it did seem to go by in a flash and I seemed to be back at work so soon. I realise that some of you may have had to work over Christmas, in which case I hope you were able to celebrate the New Year in style.

At the Q, we presenters are asked whether we would prefer to work Christmas or New Year and obviously, as it's my birthday I ask for the former and that's why I nearly always work New Year's Eve and or day. I think it's a fair trade!

I'm genuinely looking forward to 2012, not just as a sports fan to the Olympics, but generally. Everywhere I turn I read or hear how tough 2012 will be – and who am I to argue either way? But I obviously get advanced warning of Q-things to come and I can tell you that QVC is working very hard to get the best possible prices for our customers and I've already seen many great offerings to be aired this month and together with our great service, (YES I'm biased) I'm sure you'll be tuning in to or browsing the Q on a regular basis.

Next month there's a Charlie Bears TSV and Charlie and William have designed a very interesting line. I can't say too much at this point, but Marian I know you love your Charlie Bears, but this line isn't a bear! But it is silver-grey!! And it's been given a name you may be familiar with!! I've said too much – the Blog Police will be knocking on my door!

With regard to the Blog Police – I would like rather belatedly to thank Sal, my personal Blog WPC, for looking after my blog throughout 2011. She's a real sweetie and not like something from 'Cell Block H' – honestly!

In my pre-Christmas blog there was a picture of my middle brother Darren and I back in the day, so I thought I'd include an update taken on my 52nd – I think you'll agree we haven't aged a day!

Now where are those specs?

Love and laughter,
Dale x

    Hi Dale
We all do really appreciate the frequency with which you write your blogs; it’s nice to know that, whenever we log on to your’s, it will be current.
Anyway, just writing ini to say how like two peas in a pod yourself and Darren are. I knew, before reading, he was your brother!
    Take care.

Hi Dale, so glad you and the family had a lovely Christmas and that you enjoyed your birthday celebrations.
I felt I had to write on your blog to say what a fantastic job you did with Keeley in presenting the Elemis TSV very recently.
I was sorry that Alison was unable to continue after the introduction of the TSV due to her bad cough and cold, but I have to say you rose to the challenge magnificently and you and Keeley did a fantastic two hour show – yes I did stay up until 2am to watch all of the show and of course purchased several Elemis items as I am a real fan!!!!
I am sure that Alison congratulated both you and Keeley for presenting a really informative and fun show and you did not let Alison or QVC down. You were very calm and you enabled Keeley to give us such a lot of information and to show us even more of her brilliant knowledge and expertise.
I loved the part of the show when Keeley gave you some of the eye product to put around your eyes on air – your face was a picture, but like the good sport and professional that you are, you did just that!!! Has Keeley managed to convert you to being an Elemis user yet? I hope so as it is such a fantastic range.
Well done Dale and thank you so much for stepping in at the last moment and doing such a great show with Keeley. Keep up the good work.
    Sue x

OMG Dale, is it a gorgeous silver fox named QPid??! I’m sooooooooo excited, let’s do the fandango together! You just have to tell me …….Am I cold? Am I lukewarm? Am I warm ….. or am I red hot??!! Go on, say it Daleo ……. “You’re red hot Ma” …….and then tell me how close my ‘Charlie Bear’ guess is!!! Please put me out of my misery soon, I can’t BEAR it!
And thanks for the lovely wake-up ball yesterday morning . My fav man (after my husband of course …. got to keep him sweet Dale after receiving your crimbo card!!) presenting my fav beauty brand, Elemis. I just wish it had been me lying next to you …………….. on the couch of course! Lucky Emma!
By the way, I thought I had found another use for that postcard photo you sent me. Yes, I took it to my friends over Christmas. She keeps three hens and sometimes has a bit of bother getting them in their pen at the end of the day. I showed it her and she said “What’s that?” (She doesn’t watch QVC Dale …… she’s alright apart from that though!). I said “It’s the Silver Fox and I thought if you waved it at your hens, they would run in their pen”! She wasn’t amused but I thought it was rather funny! I bet I’ll be in bother with Gail as well!
    Love and stuff

    Best wishes.

Hi Dale, Galileo here! No apology needed; it was so funny and I actually love the name Galileo now (a few are calling me by that name now too). Hi Ma x I actually thought Ma had lost it big time Dale when I first read her comment; then I realised Ma was talking about the Charlie Bears.
Was that it then you say; I know exactly what you mean. I feel I should start preparing for next Christmas straight away; in fact I’ve still got enough food to last until next Christmas.
I’m hoping you will be brave enough to put that clip of Sally and yourself doing the Zumba on your blog Dale; I’m sure everyone who missed it are dying to see it.
Hello Darren. How many are there of you Daleo? An entire rugby team maybe – Marion’s just fainted by the way.
Hello to Sal too; Happy New Year Sal.
Just a quick one this time Dale and I’m going to be more seriarse this year, promise.
Get that Zumba clip posted Dale, quick as possible.

Daleo, you great big tease, when are you going to get me out…… I mean put me out ……. of my suspenders …… I mean suspense!

Hi Louise, very good to hear from you – I’ll try and make sure your confidence in the frequency of my blogging is not mis-placed!
Sue you are lovely! Ali was very upset that she couldn’t carry on with the show – she was also very complimentary and grateful. I have to agree with you regarding Keeley – she is an outstanding Guest and she also had a nasty cough/cold that night – thank you for your kind comments but Keeley should take the plaudits – I learnt so much during that show ! And yes I will be trying out more Elemis lines myself.
Cheryl, again my thanks for joining in on my blog – don’t shout it out but I did actually enjoy the Elemis show despite the rather last minute change!
Lastly Martin, Apologies to yourself and the girls I thought I had responded to – I have only just noticed that my response to your comment on my Xmas blog didn’t get posted! They must have got lost in Xmas Spirit ?
    Thanks to all Dale x

Galileo – thanks for your “quickie” always lovely to hear from you – no matter how brief – I’ll give your video idea some thought (but it was a New Years treat!)
Marian, your on the hot side of warm ! How’s that ! The “line” in question isn’t a TSV but it’s on the same day and you are nearly correct except the name ?? I think it’s going to be aired on the 27th Feb! More to follow nearer the day.
    Love & laughter Dale x

Hi Dale, I am pleased you and your family had a lovely Christmas and all the best for the New Year. What a handsome photo of you holding a present! You did really well during the Elemis standing in for Alison, I love Elemis, such a gorgeous smell and such a good make. Was watching your “son” Charlie last night when he did the jewellery with Catherine! Remember when he phoned you up during a show years ago pretending to be a woman?! That was quite funny! I used to email you when I was at work so I thought I would start writing to you in your blogs! Is the new Charlie Bear going to be a Silver Fox?!! I love Charlie Bears and have several. Would love to see the Zumba photo!! Well cheerio for now, Christine xx

What word would that be Ma? No, no don’t go there Ma, I managed to get away with that one. Hello Dale xx She who dares Ma, she who dares!!
Ma, it’s really funny but I always want to spell your name with an ‘O’ as is Marion. I don’t know why that is; funny that x
We need more requests please for Dale and Sally’s dance routine on New Years Day. Go on Dale, MAKE MY DAY!! (oh no, here I go again). xx

Hi Christine, I do indeed remember your emails, welcome to the BOTF – you may think The Charlie Bears “line” is a silver Fox – I couldn’t possibly comment !! Charlie (Brook) and I speak several times a week even if we are on different shifts and we have had some hilarious on-air moments over the 12 odd years we have worked together – we still haven’t given up on doing another show together one day. Galileo, my choreography was a New Years Treat for you ! I’m sure once seen never forgotten – p.s I thought Sally was a star carry on alone when I ran off!
    Dale x

Dale (note: Sunday name!), I can’t believe you’ve forgotten all about my suggestion on your blog 14 Feb 2010 “I think Charlie Bears should do one modelled on you called QPid for next year’s 14 Feb”. You reeled me in like a right kipper (or whatever they say!) I tell ya, I was already there with you launching it!

Sally was a star Dale. Who needs Fred and Ginger when we have our very own SAL and DAL xx
Once seen never forgotten alright; but would love a replay. I won’t go on about it anymore though Daleo (for the momemt anyway). Hello Ma xx
The sun is shining, it’s a beautiful day and IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE xx

What I meant to say Galileo is that I would also like to see a repeat performance of Daleo’s DIRTY DANCING!
And just think, if the sun hadn’t been shining today, you might have been SINGING IN THE RAIN!!!

  17. Christine January 14, 2012 at 10:23 pm -  Reply

Hi Dale, thanks for your reply. I never saw your dance with Sally so you will have to repeat it! I love dancing, if I’d been there I’d have joined in! I think you should get Charlie to join in too! I look forward to seeing it then?!!! Cheers, Christine xx

Look at it this way Daleo, it could be worse; we could be asking for THE FULL MONTY !!
Go on Dale darling, give us those 39 STEPS with those HAPPY FEET.
We must be getting close to two pages now Ma. Hello Christine.
