Christmas dinner at QVC

A warm home and Christmas preparations!

Charlie Bears Clog competition prizeHello,

Firstly, many, many thanks to everyone who entered our Charlie Bear competition. An overwhelming response and congratulations to Sheila Charlesworth our winner!

Your signed bear and umbrella will be with you very shortly.

Watch out for more prizes soon!

Between home and QVC it’s been an incredibly busy few days. So much so, I haven’t lifted a tennis racquet for over a week!

After many, many years of putting it off I finally had a new gas boiler installed. The last boiler was incredibly inefficient and very old and every year when it was serviced I was reminded of just how inefficient it was. Having the new boiler installed was a pretty huge task. It had to be relocated due to the latest gas regulations which meant running new pipes around the home. Carpets and floors were lifted and for two days we had a mini building site on our hands.

Full credit to the installation team. They were amazing, kind and really courteous. They’ve done a fantastic job and we’re on the way to lower gas bills and being much more energy efficient!

I remember as a boy how our heating hardly ever went on. Perhaps that’s why I don’t feel the cold very much today. I’m told it was bitterly cold a few days ago which probably explains why I received the occasional ‘odd look’ when I was out walking my two dogs just wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

My Mum was telling me a while ago that our house was so cold, when I was young, that not only did we have ice on the inside of our bedroom windows on a number of occasions but she also remembers the morning when the tooth brushes had frozen bristles too!

That was back in the olden days (my children like to tell me) when there were no mobile phones, digital cameras and only three television channels!

Christmas dinner at QVC

Thank you to you, if you visit my blog regularly. Starting this week I’m going to bring you some of my favourite ‘on air’ highlights from time to time. It could be anything from jewellery to DIY which I’ve recently presented which I’d like to share with you in case you missed the show.

I’m not too sure what to call this feature, perhaps you can help me by leaving a comment with your preferred name or name suggestion. Here are some of my ideas for names… QVC Highlights, QVC Replay, Q-Play or QVC Recall perhaps? I’d really appreciate your suggestions.

This week we’ll call it QVC Recall!

Now, with wintertime comes Christmas time! Our preparations are going really well. Every year I plan to be better prepared and this year is no exception.

I was recently on air with Green Seasons. This range of meat is beautiful and carefully selected from some of the finest farming regions across the UK. If you’re looking for the perfect selection of meats this Christmas and New Year, then we have the answer. I caught up recently with master butcher Pat and chef Michael to find out more. Here’s a short clip from the show.

You can find out more here and, of course, there are two options available as well. It will be delivered in December and p&p is included… The gammon is my favourite… Truly delicious!

The quality of the meat is exquisite and it means preparing for Christmas is now even easier.

I’m now feeling rather hungry!
