I don’t know about you but being a Pixar family, we came rather late to the Frozen party! For those of you who don’t know, it’s been the Disney hit of the year, and rumour has it that number two is being penned as we speak. (Oh the anticipation is too much!!!)
Anyhoo, of course we made up for not being there from the beginning and once it was in our house, it was a surefire hit. I’ve even been known to drive the entire way home from QVC (75 miles up the M40) listening to the soundtrack, paying particularly close attention to the duet between Anna and Elsa. I want to learn each and every lyric and breath for the times that my daughter and I sing it together! (I of course am the one to always stuff-up having not watched the movie quite as many thousands of times as she has!)
So whilst my son is now ready to pluck hairs from the head of anyone who dares let even the melody for “Let It Go” cross their lips, we (including QVC floor managers backstage) are still thoroughly enjoying the millions of YouTube entries of youngsters singing along before they can even utter the syllables in any form of understandable language.
I discovered another one just today. They don’t stop coming, it’s quite hilarious and generally doesn’t stop putting a smile on my face … although I have to be honest, the little girl, who when we went camping seemed unable to cease bellowing “le-go, le-GOO” day and night, did temporarily darken my day.
Isn’t it funny how some things just catch everyone? This is like mini hysteria for little people and anyone related to them who fancies joining in. A bit like what happened to the teens when the Beatles were in town (according to my Godmother) or like when I screamed at the top of my voice when Nick Berry stepped on to the stage in Tunbridge Wells Panto back in the 80s, as I sat in the second row next to my mate Kathy Siddall!
And so the Frozen plot thickens … just last week, the QVC buying team sent me home with a little Disney pendant in a box for my daughter to road test to see if she liked it. Pfft, Liked it???? … SHE LOVED IT!!!! We BOTH did!!!
Not only because she now has a pendant of Olaf, the cutest snowman EVER, but when you open the box, HIS SONG PLAYS TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh the delights are indescribable – how I love my job 🙂
