Elemis Superfood Facial Oil

Trying out June’s Beauty Pick

I had a fun show with the lovely Keeley from Elemis last week, celebrating the brand’s 21st anniversary here at QVC. If you’ve been watching since June started you may have noticed that the Beauty Pick of the Month is also from Elemis, and I’ve just got mine and started trying it, so I thought I’d do a quick blog to share my thoughts as it’s something very different.

The Superfood Facial Oil is described as a “superfood smoothie for your skin”. Now, I’m quite into smoothies (I had a delicious green one the other day, made from spinach, kale, apple and avocado – my presenter colleague Dale Franklin took one look at it, and uttered the immortal words: “You’re not going to drink that? Ugh. It looks like you killed Kermit…”). But a smoothie for your face? When you look at the ingredient list it does sound quite edible – it includes broccoli, cucumber and radish! But all in oil form, with a delightful herby, aromatic fragrance.

Now of course we all know what we eat is reflected in the condition of our skin, and no skin product is a replacement for a healthy diet. But what this oil is designed to do is give you that plumped up, healthy looking glow – the same glow we get when we’ve been eating and sleeping properly and getting some exercise!

I love oils, but they’re usually used at night and this is meant to be used in the morning (as Keeley says, you wouldn’t drink a big green smoothie just before bed, it’s a morning thing) so I was a little concerned about how make-up would go on after it. No problems though – it’s a lovely light oil which absorbs really quickly and I felt my make-up actually looked really nice and smooth. I’ve only been using it for a few days now, so I have yet to see the full benefits but all I can say is that my skin looks sort of BOUNCY. In a good way – a little plumper and fresher.

I hope you’re going to give it a go, especially as P&P is free throughout June. Let me know what you think!
