Prom Night scrapframe

Prom Night card

With children in the family there's always something to celebrate, whether it's Birthdays, Congratulations, You’ve passed! or the traditional 16th, 18th and 21st parties and don’t forget Prom night too!

Once you have that special photo why not make this scrapframe to admire it from? Black and white are great background colours for this event’s memories.

  What you will need:

 How to make the scrapframe:

Step 1Step 1 – Start with an elegant edge card measuring 21cm x 15cm and seal the sides together to make a base for your scrapframe.

Step 2 Step 2
– Take two pieces of black card measuring 11.5cm x 16.5cm and 13cm x 18cm, and one piece of white card measuring 12cm x 17.3cm, matt and layer up.

Step 3 Step 3
– Using Sizzix Framelits in the elegant shape ‘Fancy’, cut out the two largest sizes with one in white and one in black card. Add this to the scrapframe, position as shown slightly more to the right at the top right hand corner.

Step 4Step 4 – To make the prom dress, stamp the leaf design in Platinum Planet silver onto white card. Using the punch, punch out a shape and then cut this a little bit more than half way. Using the slightly larger piece, slightly trim the sides to make the shape more 'waisted'.

Next add a piece of netting by adding double-sided adhesive to one side and pleating to create the skirt shape. Affix to the punched-out shape with strong double-sided tape. Add black velvet ribbon around the waist and finish off with a white ribbon bow.

Step 5 – Make a stand for the prom dress from white card; add faux stitching with a fine black pen. Attach the dress to the stand and then the stand to the background using 3D foam pads.

Step 6 Step 6 – Add some extra detail with the self adhesive pearls.

Step 7Step 7
– Punch out the shape using white card and add your message. To finish the scrapframe, make a stand from a thick cardstock and add to the back with 3D foam, which will make it stand away from the card base and therefore not be visible from the front.

Tip – don’t forget, this will also make a lovely card for that special occasion. Make it exactly the same way just don’t seal it or add the stand at the back!

I am missing the Dawn Bibby Tuesday afternoon slot very much; at first there were other equally good [almost!]presenters, but now the Crafts seem to be pushed out to a mere 1 hour anywhere in the week,if we are lucky! I like the introduction of other crafts such as jewellery-making than paper crafts, but please can we have a two hour slot at a regular time again? Obviously there are times when other shows take proiority, but Tuesdays- or any other day – is no longer a looked-for date with a cuppa, credit card and notebook to jot ideas.

I couldn’t agree more, I have switched to create & craft!

Very dissapointed still no card craft shows, during the week. Looking on the craft projects for the week, which was the 11th of November! Only craft outlet shows in the next few weeks, come on QVC. You have some new craft presenters, so lets see more of them, new ideas. I was told Kanban, were coming back? More craft please.I have also started watching Create & Craft, as i’m sure have many of your other customers.

I too miss the craft shows but when they are on they are so much better than Create and Craft loads of ideas more professional not to mention the 30 day money back and their fantastic customer service.I shall stay loyal and like many of my friends do NOT miss D Bibby.

So glad to see some more craft programmes being shown. Any chanc of going one step further and getting the director of the cameras to stop going to the static picture of the item just as the crafter is showing us the finished item or how to do something?
Also, it would be sooooo very helpful if a little more time could be given to the demonstrations themselves. Maybe after a craft show pictures of the finished samples could be put into a gallery that we could download to help us remember why we bought the items in the first place?
Come on QVC, you have the opportunity to be leaders in the craft field again, you have some great crafters demonstrating–give them a chance to teach us and that will encourage us to buy even more.

watching craft day as I write, terrific, and already spent too much and we are only half way through the day.
Please please can you bring back a regular craft show spot with professionals. I haven’t as yet resorted to create and craft on a regular basis but do watch specific programmes on occasion. We need a little more time on demonstrations to pick up new techniques but QVC are still the best for craft. So, more professionals, more time for demos, and please bring back the regular craft shows. I don’t miss Dawn Bibby, but do miss the Tuesdays and really miss the guest presenters such as Rosemary Merry.

loved craft day, could the pack shot not interrupt the demo, i know 3 mins is not long but you can use it better, the demo will sell the product the pack shot wont, i like many others record the programe and need to know how to use what we are buying, as for advertizing the beauty qvc and losing the demo need i go on, but hey rosemary and amy are the best not forgetting kirsty she is
    a real diamond.

I have missed the regular crafting slot on a Tuesday. Don’t miss Dawn Bibby but I miss the crafting items. QVC are much better than Create and Craft as you can easily contact somebody if something isn’t right. Staff are very nice and service is great so please bring us more craft.

Please QVC, when are we going to get a REGULAR craft slot? You have some great demonstrators so why are we not given the chance to see them, learn from them and see what crafts are there to buy?
As you think about the craft slot, please give thought to allowing enough time for the demonstrators to actually DEMONSTRATE….this is what sales the goods, not static shots and wasted time with chat from presenters. You have great presenters and demonstrators that can work and talk at the same time!!! Please let them do so.

hi…qvc was once the leader in crafting …i never missed a programme…they were dates on my calender and i have been watching and buying from day 1…congratulations on another long awaited super craft day and my flexible friend felt needed again! …yes dawn bibby has gone… but you still have fab presenters like amy and marion brilliant crafters in their own right who share with us a lot more ideas and techniques stretching beyond kanban!..i have tuned into the other craft channel through my withdrawl symptons but i am not into c d crafting and don’t like the way the craft is presented… any dawn bibby slots are minimal and as dawn appears to focus on distressing and very little else they are dissapointing…. really qvc hear what your craft customers are asking for and allow our addiction to continue to flourish!! thank you and i will wait in anticipation for the next craft programme !!!

I agree we need more demonstrations. It’s easy to buy the products, but we always want to see how to use the product to the best of it’s ability. Having just a few minutes throwing something together is not enough. You should let Stephanie guide you on organizing a good show. After all they are the experts but wasted not being able to demonstrate their skills properly.

Agree with the majority of comments. Please bring back a regular craft slot. QVC is the BEST channel for craft but lately we have heard more from the presenter than the demonstrator. Please let whoever is doing the demonstration do the talking and keep the camera on them while the demonstration is ongoing. Believe me if you get it right we crafters will spend more (we have no willpower when the items are well presented with good demonstrations and good views on the samples so we can record and keep) personally speaking I sometimes hesitate to order if I am not sure that I fully appreciate the quality of the item if the demonstration is interrupted or not given enough time. Appreciate your reson detra is to sell but a good demonstration will do that if the product is good enough.
