Hello, hope you've had a good week so far.

I promised you last week a tasty recipe for Rice Krispies and Mars bars, so here it is.

This is what you'll need….
7-8 Mars bars
4oz margarine
3-4 cups of Rice Krispies.

The process to make is so simple and well worth it too!

Rice Krispie mixture

1. Simply melt the Mars bars and margarine in a large saucepan on a low heat (I cut up the mars bars, into small pieces first, which seems to help) and stir slowly.

2. Once melted, add the Rice Krispies and stir until all the Krispies are coated

3. Then spoon/pour onto a tray (about 1 1/2" deep) and pat down with the back of a spoon until firm.

4. Be patient and allow them to cool and set and enjoy!

The end result is gooey and chocolaty with a hint of caramel! Soooo tasty! Once made I find it hard to leave them alone!

    Lovely recipe! We used to have something very similar like these at school in about 1987! We called them sticky triages (obviously ours were cut into triangle shapes!). They were very lovely and totally addictive and sometimes we used to just eat a couple of those for lunch instead of actual vitamins and nutrients – but, hey, they were good for the soul!
    One of my favourite treats is peppermint bark. You melt white chocolate and mix in a little bit of peppermint essence. Then get some crushed peppermints – candy canes or seaside rock is good for this – and stir it in. Then spread the chocolate onto some foil that has been crinkled the smoothed out again. Allow it to set – you can pop it in the fridge or a cool place. Carefully peel off the foil and break up the peppermint bark and eat! You can make it with milk chocolate too and I would guess that dark chocolate would also work. Hope you like it!

    Hi Charley
    I have just finished making the above recipe. We call it mars bar cake. I made it today for my 11 year old granddaughtr to sell at a school fund raising. Next time you make it cover it with chocolate. We like the Tesco value milk chocolate the best. My recipe is 5 mars bars 4 ounces butter 4 ounces rice crispies.

    hi charlie i’ve been making mars crispies for nearly 30 years from when my children were small but we use 2 mars bars also a spoon of sugar and a tablespoon of treacle and put them into cake cases i now make them with my six grandchildren and no party is ever without them sometimes the adults have to be kept away untill the children get theirs or there is some unhappy faces x
