Great news if your style is all about the comfort factor because this autumn/winter the focus is on athleisure. This trend has become a go-to for dress-down style in recent years – simply by mixing casual styles in luxe fabrics with structured separates and accessories you can create looks that suit being worn anywhere but in the gym.
Discover the trend that makes ultimate sportswear as stylish as the rest of your wardrobe and read on to discover how our collection of sweatshirts with burnout prints, mesh tops in bright neons and lightweight tracksuit-style trousers can help you get ahead of the trend.
The key to this look is thinking outside your workout, by adding one or two pieces that you wouldn’t need when you’re in the gym – a pair of shades or a silk vest tip, a fedora, a biker jacket or a pair of boots – which helps you take this look straight to the streets. An easy way to experiment is by sticking to a monochrome colour palette; pick black and white separates, keeping the texture soft, then add structured accessories or a hint of gold with your jewellery or even a pair of sandals.
We’re pulled a couple of looks together all with pieces available now at QVC, to show you just how straightforward it is to nail this trend.
Dress-down in style days
Try a two-piece loungewear set with a twist, from Anybody Loungewear – this V-neckline, short sleeve top and straight-leg trousers will look great worn with a longline cardigan to add seasonal layering. Then accessorise with a stylish backpack, like the satin Dora Face from Lulu Guinness add these snake effect leather mules from Adesso – the crisp white soles work perfectly with the athleisure look. Finish off with this Lisa Snowdon gold vermeil multi-chain necklace and you’re set for the day.
Daytime in the city
The base of this outfit is a plain longline vest top, such as this scoop neckline top in Heather Grey from Logo by Lori Goldstein. Team with these Yong Kim wide-leg cropped trousers with chic mesh detail and complete with this Anybody drape pocket jacket in Lavender to add a pop of colour. To finish off the look add some bold gold jewellery – like this K by Kelly Hoppen bracelet, and a chic semi-structured hobo bag – the Radley Brockley in Black is a perfect choice. Finally, complete it all with some chunky heels – these Clarks Pastina sandals in Light Grey have an edgy cut-out detail that echoes the mesh detail in the trousers to bring the whole look together.
This season we’ve launched three fantastic new brands that feature athleisure as the core of their aesthetic with their latest collection – it’s easy as ABC…

Get your accessories right
One important element is getting your accessories down. The backpack should be structured, featuring gold or silver-tone hardwear. An all-over tiled print makes it right on-trend. The Orla Kiely backpack in Big Owl offers a dash of subdued colour, as does the Radley Fleet Street with it’s scribbled Scottie Dog design. The Kipling Parmida in Black Daisies however offers a monotone look and features an all-over embossed floral print.
If you love your trainers on dress-down days then make sure you embrace a little luxe for the athleisure trend – these Skechers are new for autumn/winter 2016, with the chic suede and metallic finish on the ‘S’ logo bringing just the right amount of elevation.
Team fresh trainers with plain dresses and draped jackets
Mix textures – think leather jacket with soft grey tracksuit bottoms
Keep your whites white, a hint of scruff will spoil the whole feel of the look

Add stiletto heels, think chic comfort at all times
