I hope you've seen my lovely Today's Special Value ring and fallen in love with it just as much as I have! If you're wondering where the fabulous design came from, well here is the romantic story that inspired it…
As some of you already know, Ernest and I are incurable romantics, and in 1991 I arranged a cruise on our favourite ship to renew our wedding vows.
The luxury liner is called The Sea Goddess, and if you don't happen to have your own private yacht, then this is the ultimate way to celebrate. I organised a cruise from Los Angeles to Acapulco in Mexico, and invited a total of 26 couples, including myself and Ernie.
It was the most incredible trip – Champagne and caviar all the way, and anything you wanted day or night was yours for the asking.
The captain held the renewal ceremony at twilight off the coast of Las Hades, Mexico. All the ladies were in their finest dresses – I'd chosen a Bob Mackie gown for the occasion and it was a true masterpiece. A gazebo of flowers had been constructed for all the couples to confirm their magical 'I do' vows under, adding to the romantic atmosphere.
Ernie had romance on his mind long before The Sea Goddess left port. He'd asked me for my wedding ring before we left so that when we reaffirmed our vows he could slip it back on my finger. But as we said our vows he produced from his pocket the most perfect pear-cut aquamarine ring. The exquisite aquamarine was surrounded by perfectly matched diamonds, and there are no words to express the love in my heart for Ernie's romantic gesture.
Now we've recreated the ring for you in amazing Diamonique. The blue colour of the simulated aquamarine is the same shade as the Mediterranean sea off the coast of Capri, one of my favourite places in the world. This glorious stone is equivalent to a 16 carat gem and is framed by beautiful round-cut simulated diamonds.
The setting is a work of masterful craftsmanship, ensuring the play of light throughout the stone can be fully appreciated.
I sincerely wish that you love this wonderful ring as much as I haved loved the original over these many years.
