Wow, what a crazy few weeks it has been at QVC what with interviewing the cast of 'Billy Elliot' and getting a chance to tap dance in the studio with Billy Elliot himself. It was so much fun and brought back so many memories of my special time in the West End where we used to warm up to many iconic people's routines including Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Sammy Davis Jr, so the feet tapped with such ease it was a breeze.
Before I flew out to New York for QVC's Fashion Night Out, John Barrowman was back at QVC with his new album 'Tonight's The Night: The Very Best of John Barrowman'.
As always we had so much fun, as you can see from the picture. His dedication and commitment to QVC is fantastic. As you know he is a huge QVC fan, he loves his Northern Nights, Kelly Hoppen and Butler & Wilson, and so much more.
John had been up at 5am singing on 'Daybreak' and then came to QVC to pre-record an interview before the live show at 7pm. After appearing on QVC his album debuted at number 12 in the UK album charts. There are 16 covers on the album with two new songs including 'I Owe It All To You'. This is for all his fans to say a big thank you for supporting him throughout his career but also for buying the album.
My favourite track is 'I Am What I Am', which is, without a doubt, his trademark song and also a song that, for many reasons, has a big place in my heart too. Life is to love and to live and to believe in your heart who you are and who you really want to be. Other tracks to enjoy are 'So Close', a duet with Jodie Prenger, 'One Night Only', 'I Won't Send Roses' and many more fabulous covers.
You also might want to check out his tour dates starting in Northampton on 19th October, coming to London on 7th November and ending in Glasgow on 24th November before John goes on to play Robinson Crusoe in panto. Check out John's website for more details.
Being a big QVC fan there could be no better place to launch his great skincare range for men, HIM. Having been asked so many times about his skincare routine and how he achieves and maintains fabulous skin, it was the perfect opportunity to launch his own range.
It has been well and truly tried and tested to get it absolutely perfect, from sourcing the right ingredients to the smooth textures, allowing men a great skincare routine with no fuss, but with great results. Trust me, knowing John as I do there's no compromise in any shape or form with the HIM men's skincare range. Men are loving the fact it gives them a routine and the travel sizes in this HIM discovery collection are the perfect way to try the range.
My husband particularly liked the aftershave balm with the bacterial control and the face wash smelled masculine without being too over fragranced and left his skin soft and smooth. The shave cream was superb as he shaves every day and likes a clean cut shave with no nicks from other foams he has tried. He normally uses a gel foam but HIM shave foam left no stubble and his skin was so soft. This certainly delivered. Oh, and girls, it shaved my bits too! Sssh, don’t tell the guys…makes a change, huh?! It's currently on waitlist so don’t miss out next time.
Here's to the gift of good skin.
I'd love to hear what your favourite song is and if you have a favourite from John's new skincare range.
My love and happiness to you always (with plenty of bling too!)
p.s: Oh, and watch out for a true legend coming to QVC that I am lucky enough to get to chat to about his new album. Can't tell you just yet but will keep you updated. I will say that I performed in two Royal Variety Shows that he appeared in…
