I’d drive through France until I was almost in Switzerland, just before I got to the border near Geneva. Why? Because that’s where my daughter and son in law live, with their new baby granddaughter. When I fly out to see them, I can’t carry all the goodies I’d love to spoil my latest grandchild with, so I’d love to load up the car with treats for her.

Portugal is the destination for me. It is our favourite holiday destination and we will also be moving there soon so will need to explore the area more fully to find a place to live in as opposed to being on holiday.

Romania…..to meet up with the young girl I’m still in touch with since she received a box from me in the shoe box appeal many years ago. I’d love to visit her and her family exploring her home town and the beautiful Carpathian mountain region and learn more about Vlad the Impaler whom the story of Dracula was based. The capital , Bucharest, holds great interest too as well as the black, white bellied squirrels and wild bears and wolves and of course bats that inhabit this diverse country…what a drive that would be!

We would like to go to the Alpine villages of Switzerland. We drive to Italy every year and take the motorways. Last year we took our Tom Tom Live and as we crossed into Switzerland from France our Tom Tom asked us to divert from the motorway and take the mountain roads. We gingerly took the alternative road and ended up having the most wonderful journey with spectacular views from high up in the mountains, going through the most gorgeous villages with cute houses and lovely hotels, which we duly took note of to stay in on our next holiday. The best thing of all was that as we looked down onto the motorway which we had avoided there was a ten mile traffic jam into Italy which we could have been stuck in if it were not for our good friend Tom Tom!! So we would definitely like to go back and take the picturesque route through Switzerland.

My father was captured during the evacuation of Dunkerque in 1940. He was marched across Europe to a prisoner of war stalag in Poland where he spent 5 years. I have recently traced the location of the camp and would love to be able to visit there to see where he spent so long and I suspect a TomTom would be a necessity on the journey.

France. I would like to drive through the northern mountains of France and sample the idylic French style of life. Stay in a remote and quiet town and live simply for a few months. I would then drive, in the soft warm climate, down through the mountains and visit local vineyards and hopefully find time to travel to the renowned region of provence and learn all about Ocittana.

I would like to drive from GB to Austria, as a child my father made the journey through France and Germany to Austria with us and the rest of our family, it was an adventure I have never forgot, camping on the way and then visiting relatives in Austria. we had a flat tyre, a radiator overheat, slight collision, flooded tent in the Black Forest as well as getting lost several times. Yes we had maps and less traffic then today, but it was still challenging for my Dad the only driver and my mum who was not good at map reading. Im sure the journey with a Tomtom satnav will today be much less stressfull, but still an adventure never to be forgot.

I can also declared that without Tom Tom device, I would not be able to find and locate all the different areas of interest in Spain, especially Barcelona, Salou, Tarragona, Marcia, Reus, Los Alcazarus etc. It is definitely the best European country to stay no matter the seasons. Spain has fantastic motorway structure and vast amount of beautiful attractions to visit. Tom Tom European map is a “must have” item when driving in Spain.

With the help of Tom Tom European Maps I would like to drive through France. Stopping where I want and driving in any direction, governed by my love of flowers and wine. A journey to marvel at the glorious sunflowers; loved by Van Gogh. To take time to see the rolling hills of lavender fields. To find a remote place near a vineyards that stretching out across the valley. Alas I don’t feel very confident driving abroad and so my journey to France is shared with my partner, and the streets of the French cities and towns. Tom Tom European Maps would give me the confidence to take to the country roads alone. But not feel quite so alone! As I would have my helpful companion Tom Tom to find the flowers and help me find my way home.

I would love to Visit Austria. I would like to climb high in the mountains, explore little villages off the beaten track, which I could do with a Tom Tom Sat Nav. Stay at traditional Tyronean Inns and explore the fast flowing rivers. I would like to enjoy the sweet little mountain strawberries whilst breathing air like wine. I would pause to picnic alongside a lake with meadow flowers scenting the air, to visit Innsbruck with its blend of old and new and fantastic shopping, and finally I would like to be in Vienna. My Sat Nav could take me to see what is left of the Vienna Woods, the amazing and historic Schaunbraun Palace, the giant Ferris Wheel that featured in the film The Third Man. I would sit in a coffee house and enjoy a calorific pastry and then I would like to visit a concert hall and enjoy a wonderful selection of Strauss music by candlelight.
My Tom Tom sat nav. would allow me to do all of this easily and without confusion, and would allow me to make changes to my journey if something caught my eye, and to travel off the normal tourist roads deep into more typical and traditional parts of Austria. Ahhhh I can smell those flowers and taste those pastries already.

So with that in mind it would be lovely to drive and take our time admiring the sights and leave our son home alone. He’s now eighteen …hmmmmmm maybe not!

I’d drive to and through Italy for the majesty and breathtaking backdrop of the Alps down via Venice and the Veneto and onwards through the beauty of the countryside and small villages towards Rome -The Eternal City. After that down south to Naples and Puglia for a different kind of beauty and undiscovered landscapes and then turn round and do it all again on the way back!

There are many I would love to see, but top of the list is Monaco for me
An avid fan of Formula one, I would love to drive the circuit just for fun
With a TSV 60 guiding me, I can pretend I am in the Grand Prix
Through the famous tunnel and hairpin too, Just me and my TomTom crew
Now I am not looney behind the wheel but this would give me a massive thrill
I would feel like I was on cloud nine then I would leave the circuit far behind
Head for the Casino and roll some dice, a one-off gamble not a vice
Then out of town heading for France, with TomTom I wouldn’t be leaving anything to chance

I would love to visit Germany as I have never been there before. A place where they wear lederhosen means a great sense of humour. They eat sauerkraut so a sense of humour is pretty much in their genes. They love, cakes, drink and breakfast. That must be a plus. The scenery is stunning and I must find out if they leave the beach towels out at 5am in their own resorts. Now that would be über-good.

After a near fatal heart attack just before his 50th birthday and many months in ITU he is now in the Rehabilitation Centre learning how to live again. He is having to re-learn to speak, walk, dress and feed himself. He has been understandably low and frustrated but the staff at the centre are motivating and encouraging him, as well as providing support to his wife and children. I would love to surprise him to cheer him up and at the same time raise some money to help support the wonderful work the centre do.

I should like to travel the roads in the highlands of Scotland with crystal clear lochs on one side and majestic mountains on the other. To find secluded silver sand beaches on which to leave footprints. To further search for that elusive creature the midge. I know this would be the hardest challenge but Tom Tom and I would leave no road untravelled and no bracken undisturbed until such a creature was found and we could rest weary but fulfilled.

I visited Rome last year and fell in love with Italy so I’d love to travel to Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise which lie two hours east of Rome. This area is said to have some of the most stunning countryside in Italy. The area is a national park and the road runs through beautiful countryside then up into the mountains. The small towns in the park are virtually untouched, it would be amazing to see the real Italy! I would especially like to visit the small town of Vasto and see the famous Trabocchi coast.

I always fly and then travel by public transport but oh how I would love to make the journey by car. To be able to visit the whole region that was so impactful on his life would have such a big impact on my own. Sadly with no inbuilt ‘sense of direction’ and no travelling companion to navigate I have not yet managed it but with the help of TomTom and Tom (my dad) I may do it yet.

I have never had the confidence to drive abroad, but with my trustworthy Tom Tom I would love to drive to Italy, along the beautiful Amalfi coast ending up in Positano. I can imagine myself in an open top car, feeling the warmth of the sun on my back. I would stop off as the fancy took me for a delicious coffee or perhaps to pick a highly fragranced lemon straight from the tree. I would look forward to an ice cold limoncello upon arrival in Positano!
