I hope wherever you live, you've been having the little Spring taster that we've had in the South this week – I know I shouldn't say it too loud as we could still easily have more snow but it was really uplifting, it even fooled the birds and certainly put smiles on faces all around.
If you follow me on Twitter, you'll probably have read that Toby has ripped another claw and was feeling very sorry for himself.
Unfortunately it's a problem he's had since a puppy and happens regularly, which is why he has learned to deal with it so well, with a little help from us in the form of pain relief and salt baths (just for his paw !). Luckily they don't get infected and he's usually running around again in two/three days.
Last week, I was only on-air on Wednesday but I was still at the Q, Thursday and Friday, attending various meetings and catching up with bits and pieces, together with filming a Pilot for a new show concept.
This week however, I'm on-air from Wednesday to Sunday. There's a tremendous variety of great shows I'll be presenting including Liz Earle, In the Kitchen, Michelle Hope etc. On Thursday I'll be presenting the last two hours of "Around the World in 80 Gems" between 10pm and midnight. this is a wonderful seven hour event featuring a fantastic variety of you've guessed it 80 Gem stones, all set in Sterling Silver.
There's something for every taste and I've picked out a couple of items that feature in my 2 hours – In my 10pm hour I have Item: 607349 a HUGE faceted Taiwanese Black Calcite ring with a substantial Sterling silver gallery and shank – very impressive at under £55!
In the 11pm hour Item: 607383 a stunning pair of Chinese Fluorite Earrings – they are an amazing deep purple and really stood out on the Buyer's tray placed before me last week – 3.7cts in total, arranged in an elegant drop design under £30!
On Saturday Night into Sunday I'll be with my old pal Richard Jackson for the launch of a wonderful Flower Power TSV in a two hour show at midnight which also officially launches our Gardening Season. So Perhaps Spring really is on it's way!
I really am serious this year about losing a little excess weight and toning up a bit – Throughout my life I have always been reasonably fit and so there's no real excuse for letting myself go! I can think of hundreds of excuses though as I wade through another Pizza, but the truth is I'm happier when I'm not overweight – so there – I've said it out loud in print and I'll have to do something about it now!
With this in mind I found an old photo of me taken at around the 10 mile mark of a Half Marathon in 1984! Not sure what amused me – perhaps I caught a glimpse of my shorts in a shop window!
Stay safe, warm and fit x
