To all of the wonderful readers of ‘The Blog of the Fox’…

Silver Fox notepadThank you for all of your lovely cards! I have replied to thank those with addresses enclosed, but wanted to take this opportunity to thank anyone who didn't – it's very much appreciated.

A special thanks to Gail (a regular contributor in the comments section) who sent me this rather apt note book, as you can see, for my birthday! Thank you Gail – I loved it x

I will use it to perhaps write down some of the Gail and Marian ditties and rhymes!

As a generally 'glass half-full' man – I try and keep my blog upbeat and positive, but I wanted to take a moment to mention that whilst 2013 has been a wonderful year for me personally in many ways, having worked on some exciting shows - of which I'll elaborate on more in my end-of-year blog – 2013 has also been a very emotional year for us in QVC Broadcasting.

We have said farewell to no less than four of our wonderful work mates and colleagues who have tragically passed away. So, before I sit down for my Christmas/birthday lunch I will raise a glass in salute to my 'Absent Friends' as I'm sure many of you will also be doing in memory of your absent friends and loved ones too.

Dale and TobySo for all of you and your families I truly hope that you may enjoy good health throughout the Christmas period, as well as into 2014 and beyond.

Although I'm not back on-air until the 28th for a 3-hour Gem Fest with Jill Franks (oh ohhhh!) – you may see me having fun with some jewellery on Christmas eve or day!

Be happy! Be sober-ish! Be healthy and in the words of Dave Allen "May your God go with you".

Thrilled that you liked the note book so much Dale. Depending on when this comment is posted (ie before or after Christmas), I hope you have, or had a nice Christmas and Birthday xx

There’ll be no more ditties or rhymes for your notebook from yours truly until you tell me what you thought of my last one D. Some feedback would be nice. And that’s me getting all stroppy! Thank you and good night!!

Thank you Gail I had a lovely Xmas and Birthday and thanks again for your thoughtful gift – Here’s to a Great New Year ! xx
Hi Marian, unfortunately I missed your last comment, as I have posted 2 blogs since – as you say it’s hectic in the build up to Xmas – I thank you for it, as always and wish you a Happy New Year x
Hi Christine, lovely to hear from you again, although I’m so sorry to hear of your sad news. I hope that you got through Christmas with at least some happy memories and managed to have a Happy Birthday !? I’ve often blogged that however much we feel the loss of our pets – the joy of having them in our families, outweighs the sadness in the longer term – Good luck in your search for a rescue dog in 2014 I know our old neighbours at Battersea have a large selection x

    Hi Dale,
I’ve just read an old blog of yours regarding how long you have been at QVC! I remember you telling me that you’d just had an interview for QVC while paying in cheques for Tracey (in a certain Building Society near Weybridge)!! I doubt you remember me.
I’ve followed your career and have spent many a New Years Eve with you 😉 Hope you and the family are well and had a lovely Christmas, Birthday and New Year

    Hi Dale
Just to say that you brought back many happy memories when you did your show with Gineta from Veronese and showed the photos you had of Verona. I’ve been to all those places in 2008 50 years after my mother took me abroad after I left school, before starting work, and guess what Aida was on then. We did go to see it but all I can remember was hot chocolate brandy as we got very cold as the evening progressed.
PS the White Fox is very distinguished.
