I was in Bristol last week for a couple of days and saw my baby niece Ruby and older niece Jasmine, it's always such a special time. Ruby is almost 9 months old now and seems to grow in these crazy spurts. I do like the picture of her and I that my sister took in a little cafe in Bristol where we all went for lunch, you can't beat a Ruby cuddle!
It's been a really busy and social couple of weeks at QVC too; this week I was lucky enough to meet and interview the singer/songwriter Gabrielle – what an amazing yet humble lady. She had such star quality and amazing energy and of course that legendary voice – if you didn't know she has a new album out which is a combination of her 20 years of music along with new tracks, I haven't stopped listening to it. If you missed it watch online here.
Also this week I caught up with Cari and Serine, the 2 sisters who work with the Pacific Coast Feather Company, who provide most of the luxurious feather and down fill we get to enjoy as part of Northern Nights. We went to Gordon's wine bar, one of the oldest in London, along with other QVC faces: Sam, Susie and Rebecca – a good night had by all!
I also hosted a customer event at QVC this weekend to whet some of our viewers appetites for the Big Christmas Shopping Weekend that is happening this weekend. There was a photobooth there so as you can see we had great fun. How are you getting on with your Christmas shopping? I think I can safely say mine is pretty much done which is just as well as I had a 1st December deadline, not quite sure I will make that but I won't be far off, hurrah!
And yes, as the title said Craigey did go to the ball, the Copra ball in fact – this is a huge annual event held where members of the beauty industry get to meet, talk about industry news, enjoy a meal and a boogie! I was so honoured to attend, I actually had the opportunity as Alison Young had been poorly and she had to look after her voice for the big Christmas beauty TSVs that were imminent. So, myself, Will Gowing and members of management and the beauty team all went together and had great fun – hope you like the photos, as you can se we had a real giggle with Mr Barrowman!
And yes, I have as it says in the title of this blog also been interviewing a starlet, probably a lady you know as Ms Justine Balmer; my friend, my colleague from QVC and a superbly talented classical crossover soprano. She is just finishing her debut album and in the interview I ask her more about the unique way her fans can help her take it to the next level, have a look at the video and see what you think…. one very driven and talented lady!
Finally, a lot of you said you would like something fun at the end of each blog so how's this!? To celebrate Ice Watches coming to QVC, I made this fun little video on my phone under the watchful eye of my niece Jasmine using Video Star – a bit of fun and of course the watch gets the starring role, haha!
