This week’s gardening news…

Did you know the RHS Chelsea Flower Show are allowing one of the show gardens this year to use artificial grass? It's the first time ever that artificial plants have been used at the world famous event!
The news will please Emma at QVC, a keen gardener who installed artificial grass in her garden last year and has been thrilled with it.

Spring flowering times

Also, the trade magazine Horticulture Week says that Kew Gardens has been tracking spring flowering times for the past fifty years. Daffodils that burst into flower around 11th February in the 1980s, started flowering around 27th January in the 2000s, but waited until 1st March to flower this year.
So it's official, we're a month behind. But judging by my garden, we're now catching up fast. At last!

Happy gardening,

    Hello Richard,
Recently I moved house, and want to start making a Herb Garden. I love Herbs. They have so many uses, i.e Medicinal, cooking, and attracting bees etc to the garden, apart from being beautiful additions to a garden, in their own right!I have only just ‘found’ your ‘website’ and am finding it very interesting..and helpful. I always watch your gardening programs, where you offer so many beautiful, flowers, shrubs etc for us to buy. Is it possible that you may some time bring on a selection of herbs that we can buy for our gardens..Thank you for your continued help and advice..Best wishes Pat Caldwell
