Wow! The temperature sure has dropped hasn’t it?! What are you doing to get ready for winter? We’ve been doing our usual family walks at the weekend and heading straight to somewhere for hot chocolates pronto! I do love this weather though, I’m a fan of our UK seasons and chunky knitwear and big coats in winter.
I also really enjoy evenings in with lovely food, wine and a cosy on the sofa. I recently treated us to a new bedspread from the Kelly Hoppen range to update our bedroom but it has also added some much needed extra warmth down here on the south coast. Last night it was -1 and it’s set to get colder!
I’ve also finally started my Christmas shopping. I have been wondering what to get my oldest daughter Tilda for a while.
She has plenty of toys and I don’t want her to have a mountain of presents as she has done some years. It’s too much for a young child and we end up having to spread out the opening of them over a week.
So I am trying to be a bit more practical and choose something that will last longer than her attention does on a plastic toy, be educational and that will give her a sense of responsibility. No I’m not getting her a puppy!
I was watching Craig Rowe and Lee Hohbein on QVC the other day and Lee was demo-ing a fantastic Amazon Fire Kids 7″ tablet.
The more I watched, the more I thought this could be good for Tilda. She always wants to be on our iPads and phones. She is allowed it as at treat but I worry about her using such an expensive piece of kit. I also have to keep a watchful eye over her to make sure she hasn’t stumbled onto something that she shouldn’t see.
I had a chat with Fred, my husband about it and we decided that we think she is old enough to appreciate something like this. It would still only be for when she’s been good, needs to watch videos for school homework and for long car journeys! The fact that it’s on Easy Pay and that it comes in a protective rubber case that’s droppable is a big plus. It also has a two year warranty!!
So that’s Tilda’s Xmas this year, I think she is going to love it. I also found her a pair of pink headphones that have ears on them! I now need to get something for everyone else, I can’t share those yet in case they read my blog!
This week I will be launching the Today’s Special Value offer from BaByliss. I’m really excited about it because it’s the Pro Curl styler that I know many people would just love on their Christmas list. That’s not all though, it includes a 2000 watt hairdryer too – all at a great price, launching at midnight on Wednesday 30th November and all day Thursday.
The ‘DIY’ version The make-up artist version
One of our lovely make-up artists used it on my hair the other day for on air and I loved it. Of course I don’t have her at home too, so I wanted to make sure I was able to get the same results myself. Check out my video to see how I got on with it and how it actually works. I would love to know what you think and if you have tried one of these before. I have a feeling this will be a very popular TSV and anyone who loves styling will be over the moon to get this for Xmas.
