The Viking workers were over

Simon working with uncle FredeWe had a visit from my wife’s uncle and aunt last week and they were only going to come if they could help us with some jobs!!

So, my wife ordered several tonnes of sand, cement, gravel and paving slabs with a view to giving them five days of hard labour- making a patio!

Of course it rained and rained and rained so work was somewhat sporadic, but uncle Frede doesn’t give up and we managed to put in concrete foundations and build two walls.

When I say it like that, it doesn’t sound like too much but man, I’m not used to work like that and what with extra food to cook and the kids to take to school and sort out – I was knackered!

Now, the problem is I need to plaster the walls and lay the slabs, in order to get it finished and with the kids breaking up for holiday this week, it looks like there may be little opportunity to get stuck in for a while. I’ll keep you posted and let you know if I make any progress but as the emphasis is on the "I" it may be a slightly drawn out affair.

Anyone know a bricky or paver that wants to come and stay for a few days?!

Those are the kind of visitors I need more of! Good luck with the patio – I’m sure it will be lovely once done.
