As I write this my to-do list at the corner of my eye is nearly all crossed off (how I LOVE that feeling!!) …although I need to move the kitten off the bags, where there is a bag, he curls up and falls asleep!
This afternoon, we are flying off to Uzbekistan where the soaring heat will not be the only challenge as after two weeks, we will fly home, but will be leaving Myles there until October as he is staying with very good friends of ours and taking part in an international school exchange. It’s such an exciting time for all of us but a little bit daunting too.
It’s not the only trip though, Myles, Beely and I went down to the Isle of Wight for our annual camping trip and again, as always, the weather turned to howling gales and sheet rain. Perhaps we should cancel this tradition and then everyone would keep the great weather? If only it was that easy. Speaking of islands, we have been watching the entire collection of Lost over the last 6 months and finally finished it yesterday before Myles goes. Have you seen it? I don’t want to ruin it if you haven’t but Beely’s words right at the end were “WHAT A WASTE OF 6 MONTHS!!!” … she was indignant, it was hilarious!
Previous to the Isle of Wight, Brian and I managed to sneak off for a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary. This year we chose Ross on Wye and went to all of our favourite spots. It’s amazing what you can fit into a short break. We walked, talked, rowed, got wet, ate yummy food, drank delicious wine and generally spoiled ourselves which was such a treat.
So time to finish packing, I am of course wearing my Join cropped trousers on the flight …I live in them, and I am taking my favourite Earth Spirit sandals to tourist my “socks” off in … no socks in 40 degree heat though. And yes, my Ultrasun is most definitely packed!
I will leave you with a little kitten slide show, he’s growing as you can see and poor Sherbert’s patience is being thoroughly tested as he is mugged every time he enters the house! I think they like each other though.
Take care and see you when we get back, make sure you’re following me on Twitter to see pics of Uzbekistan whilst we are gone.
