The new BarePro Foundation from Bareminerals

Bareminerals have always been world leaders in the use of natural pigments derived from minerals for healthy, comfortable complexion products, but their latest complexion product to add to your wardrobe of looks is a must-own for anyone looking to achieve a quick, long-wear look with a glamorous, modern but natural matte finish.

Barepro Foundation comes in a compact and can be applied either with the sponge provided which will be very easy to use on the go for make-up at work or when you are in a rush, or with the smooth control coverage brush which is a retractable brush to sweep it on to the skin to give and airbrushed finish.

The first thing you will notice with this complexion product is an incredibly silky, smooth texture when it goes on the skin that builds up easily without looking powdery. This is due to the 90% vitamins and minerals which create a breathable, weightless, micro-mesh formula designed not to clog or clump, and it is proven not to cause breakouts. It just as easily gives great coverage on difficult places like pigmented or red eyelids, and high-coloured cheeks, and gives good coverage to spots and breakouts.

Remember, a textural problem should always be addressed first with a primer to give long-wear performance. However, this can build up very quickly and easily from light to full coverage and because of this unique micro-mesh technology, it helps to hide any poor structure abnormalities, blocks and blots out shine and, with it being a Baremineral’s formula, the condition of your skin will improve when supported by their skin-loving ingredients.

When you want full coverage, as it gives a matte finish, for drier skin types, just make sure you are well-moisturised underneath, especially any wrinkle-prone areas. However the good news is that the result you get on first application has a great, long-wear performance and although it can give the look of a full coverage when built up, it doesn’t give a caked or heavy feel.

I think this texture and look will be perfect going into autumn/winter to hide the sins of the summer, and to step into and enjoy the more formal look of fashion make-up trends which we always enjoy in the a/w season.

For shades:

This shade chart should help you decide on your shade. However, if you are already a Bareminerals foundation fan, it’s worth noting that he Barepro foundation has slightly different shade names.

Below I’ve listed the previous Original Foundation shade names and matched them to what you would be in the new Barepro names. For example, in other Bareminerals foundation I normally wear Fairly Light (when not on air as I tend to go up a shade). In this product 02 Dawn would be my most natural shade.

Yes, finally golden medium in Bare minerals. I have already ordered the Golden Nude and am quite excited to try it.
Just one quick thing: could you update the description of which shades are suitable for various skin tones? I wear Golden Medium, am Afro-Caribbean and honey toned skin. I would be tan in Tarte foundations but the tan shades in Bare Minerals are too red for me and Laura Geller’s balance and brighten is a touch too red also. It would be nice to have some guidance on what foundations match this one as I am sure there are a lot of people out there with similar colouring to mine.

I have been using for near 2 weeks now and I LOVE it. I don’t find it as full coverage as I expected however the feel and look of my skin with barepro on makes its my fave foundation ever! I have vitiligo and a patch round my eye. The foundation doesn’t sit over it but NO foundation does and to be honest I don’t care as the rest of my face is glowing with this foundation on it! I was in fairly light and I wear cashmere in bare pro and it’s a perfect match or me. Thank you bareminerals and qvc for this product.
