The long-awaited Diet Chef programme

27

It's been seen on TV, talked about on the radio, featured in magazines and newspapers, and it's coming to QVC at the best price imaginable! We'll have a whopping saving as opposed to buying direct from Diet Chef, for a month's programme!

Does it work?

Saving money means nothing if it doesn't work though, so does it work? Well I have to say I've been massively impressed with not just my weight loss but the inch loss! Inches from my bust, hips, waist and thighs have melted away and the feedback from my colleagues who trialed it has been the same too!

Join us on Monday

You'll get to see several of our before and after piccies during the presentations on Monday 24th August when the diet is launched. Kathy Tayler's piccies are phenomenal!

I'll be with you for the midnight show on Monday morning and then 4pm and 7pm later in the day on Monday. I can't wait to show this system off.

How does it work?

It's so simple. It's like having a personal chef, like the celebs do! All your meals and snacks are delivered to you. All you have to add is a bit of fresh fruit and veg. I like that there's hardly any washing-up to do, too. Lazy me, eh?

Seriously though, I've had people asking me repeatedly how I've lost this weight and when the diet is coming so here you are.

The wait (and the weight) is almost over!

See you then! Lots of love,

Catherine xx

    Hi Catherine
I’ve noticed that you’ve been looking great! Especially today doing the Kim & Co programmes. The colour of the outfit really suits you.
Looking forward to the Diet Show, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the QVC site awaiting this moment.
    Keep up the good work!
    Kind regards

    Thank you, Pauline!
I have been dying to tell everyone all about it but was sworn to secrecy and could say hardly a thing about it except that I was trialing a new diet coming to QVC!
Such an exciting time for us at QVC but also for me personally as I think I’ve found a really ideal way to lose weight. The funny thing is I was looking into delivered meals when QVC told me about this! Meant to be, obviously!
Thanks again for your kind words,
    Love Catherine x

    Hi Catherine,
Just wanted to ask you a quick question about the diet chef programme,as you have said in previous shows with paul mckenna system his i can make you thin products helped you to loose a lot of weight. What made you change onto the diet system instead of loosing the few pounds with the paul mckenna that obviously was very successful in the past.

    Hi Catherine
I am SO looking forward to seeing the Diet Chef TSV on Monday. I have just started my first hamper from the site, and I find the programme is brilliant and easy to follow, and the meals are very tasty. I do believe it will work for me, and the prospect of getting a hamper cheaper is great news. I do feel getting Diet Chef on QVC will help alot of folk who have struggled with excess weight for so long.Top marks to QVC for supporting this programme.

Considering you are a fan of Paul McKenna why would you have anything to do with a “diet”?

  9. Roobeee August 24, 2009 at 12:23 am -  Reply

Really wanted to do this through QVC as cost effective, but alas there is no vegetarian option. What a massive pity!

    Hi Ruth,
Nice to hear from you. I’m always open to trying new things. I totally love Paul McKenna’s system and still use a lot his techniques like eating slowly and thinking about my food. It’s a wonderful system and is mainly focused on how you think about food (and yourself) rather than the actual food you eat.
My reason for giving this a go is that the focus is on the kind of food you are eating and the sheer convenience of it all being delivered, pre-prepared and portion controlled as well as nutritionally balanced.
Perhaps I’m a bit lazy! I like not having to think about what I need to buy foodwise and yet I’m still getting a rounded diet.

    Hi Maxi,
That’s a really good question. I know that some of the meals have cream in them so I’m thinking the hamper we have won’t be 100% suitable for you but I will ask when I am on later today with the TSV. If you don’t manage to catch the show then please give our customer services a call on 0800 51 41 31. They can let you know ingredient listings and if it’s not suitable perhaps you can contact Diet Chef direct to see if they have options for allergy sufferers?
I sincerely hope that helps, Maxi.
    All the best,
    Catherine x

    Hi Nikki,
Good question and thanks for asking it. Working at QVC I have lots of different systems I have an opportunity to try and I’m very open to new things.
I think I’m one of Paul McKenna’s biggest fans and I use his techniques to this day. In fact, I think it helps me to make the most of Diet Chef as it’s portion controlled. It means I eat slowly, I savour the taste and it seems to go further! Bonus!
I have to say that I don’t really even think of Diet Chef as a ‘diet’ as such as it’s eating the kind of food I’d like to make if I had the time. The only things that make it a ‘diet’ are the fact lower carb and lower fat options are used and that calorie intake is based on a deficit of your normal daily intake. When I was asked if I’d like to trial it I jumped at the chance! So convenient to have all the food prepared for you with only a few fruit & veg to add yourself.
I’ve been really pleased with my loss and it doesn’t feel like a ‘diet’ because I can snack, too. I’ve tried shakes in the past and cereal diets but they always made me feeling a bit shaky and I became obsessed with my next meal.
Also, on Paul’s system you can eat whatever you want, which is fine but I was interested to see what it’d be like to ditch the take aways and chocolate and just give healthy eating a try. I’ve really enjoyed it. Don’t get me wrong..I still want to have the odd takeout, chocolate bar and glass (or two) of Chardonnay but this has simply helped me to achieve weight loss healthily.
I hope that answers your question, Nikki, and I can see why you would be asking.
    Take care,
    Love Catherine xx

    Hi Roobee (loving your name!)
I’m sorry you’re disappointed there’s no veggie option just now. I don’t know this for sure but it may be that if enough people contact QVC asking for a vegetarian version perhaps it could come about, who knows? Failing that perhaps it may be worth contacting Diet Chef to see if there is an option from them directly?
I’ve just thought of something else…it is VERY long shot but if you know someone else who is planning to go on this maybe you could do some swaps so they end up with the meat options and you get the veggie things?
    Apologies again for the disappointment.
    Much Love,
    Catherine xx

I agree with Roobeee – why have we vegetarians been left out – you only needed to offer option A or B (even fish would have helped) I am very very disappointed.

  18. Catherine Huntley August 24, 2009 at 5:27 pm -  Reply

    Hi Melanie,
I am sorry you are feeling disappointed and I appreciate your feedback. All I can say is that I will pass your feedback on to our buyers and see what they can do..it may even be something they have already considered but as this was a first time ever appearance on QVC for Diet Chef maybe they just wanted to gauge the reaction to it as a system first before offering multiple choice. I couldn’t say for sure.
I do hope we can bring something to suit you in the future and if not then I’d suggest the same as I mentioned in my reply to Roobee.
    Thanks again for your feedback,
    Warm regards,
    Catherine x

Hi Catherine, you were brilliant presenting Diet Chef today, well done, you covered all the points and your enthusiasm sounded genuine. I can see why you went for it. I too was confused at first, like other posters, because i thought too that you favoured an internal system of weight control rather than an external one but now you’ve explained it so well here in the above e-mails i do ‘get it’. You’ve done so well! good for you for giving it a try, you must be so chuffed.. and now you know that you are getting healthy nutrition with all the convenience this system offers.
    best wishes,
    Pam

    Hi,Catherine
Surely this goes against all that Paul Mckenna talks about? it is a DIET!(Why is he no longer on QVC?)

    Hi Catherine
Congradulation on your fantastic weight loss. You are looking really good and are a wonderful “advert” for the success of the dietchef programme! I really enjoyed learning about dietchef and the amazing pricing that QVC has made available to us.
I would appreciate some advice about those moments of weakness – especially in the afternoon/evening – can we have two snacks from the programme or should we stick to fruit?

    Hi Jacqui,
Thanks for your comments. I really hope this works well for you, too. My advice is just to simply follow it exactly as recommended in the booklet.
At least you know you have the online forum here on our website. In case you haven’t found it yet you just click on ‘Brands’ on the left hand side of our homepage and then click on ‘Diet Chef’ and you’ll see there’s a whole page of links including one to the forum.
All the best with your weight loss!

    Hi Pam,
Nice to hear from you. I’m really glad people have asked about the Paul McKenna system as it gives me an opportunity to explain my own personal point of view. I like to try different things for myself but also like to try things on behalf of viewers – put myself up as a ‘guinea pig’ if you like so I can share my experience of a product/system.
There’s always more than one way to arrive at a destination and I guess I’d just encourage people to try what suits them as long as it’s sensible and reasonable and gets you to your end result. I have my own preferences despite trying all sorts of things and I like both Paul and Diet Chef and find they are quite different to each other.
I’m so pleased you feel I explained it well here. I appreciate your comments.
Many thanks & lots of love,
    Catherine x

    Hi Sarah (Cullis)
Great to hear from you again! I hope life is treating you well.
In answer to your question I would say if you are to get the best results then it’s fruits/veg to snack on and just one packaged snack a day. What I tend to do is try to delay lunch a little bit as I tend to get ‘nibbly’ in the afternoon, too. I also love peas right out of the pod so will snack on a bowl of those rather just the usual fruit snack. Raw mushrooms are good, too, I find.
Remember our forum is up and running so don’t be shy to get involved there as lots of people are swapping hints and tips.
Must dash..on telly soon! Good luck!
    Love Catherine x

    Hi Sarah (Webb)
Thanks for writing in. It sounds like you are a fan of Paul McKenna’s, like me. I think that Paul’s system and the Diet Chef one are two very different systems so I wouldn’t say one is right and one is wrong but I totally understand if you feel differently.
I have loved so much of Paul’s system and still use many his techniques to this day. At the same time I would say that I ‘cherry pick’ rather than completely following any system to the exclusion of any other options. I have used what I feel is right for me from Paul’s and have now decided to be more aware of the kinds of foods I eat and that’s where Diet Chef has helped me, too.
I take your point that Paul took a very anti ‘diet’ stance when on QVC and I can see why you feel this goes against what he talks about, however, it doesn’t mean that users of his system have to take the exact same stance. To me the kind of diets I was wary of were things which only included one food group like purely liquids/shakes/soups and so on. Also I’d say it’s very important not to go on a diet and then just go back to the old way of eating as that can result in regaining the weight. Diet Chef advises what to do at the end of the 28 days to regulate your new diet. Whichever system works best for you I’d say go ahead and do it, though. One man’s pleasure is another man’s poison as they say.
As far as I’m aware Paul is no longer at QVC as he is now based in Los Angeles and very busy with work there.
Wow, I’ve really rambled on but I hope that helps?
    All the best,
    Catherine xx
