The Huntley hits the stage!

Catherine onstage with Alex Aires and Monica McNallyThose of you on twitter will know me as @TheHuntley and will know why I've been absent from the QVC screen for the last couple of weeks.

For those of you who don't, I've been in rehearsals for a play I'm in, which runs from 1st to 6th November at Baron's Court Theatre (one of London's premier fringe theatre venues).

People often ask if we have a script or auto-cue at QVC but the answer is no. Having been cast in a leading role for Tamsin Oglesby's 'My Best Friend', I've had to readjust to learning lines! Gosh, it's tough! I have been loving it, though.

My two fellow cast members (Alex Aires and Monica McNally) and I get on so well, lovely and talented actresses they are too. We have wonderful set and costume designers who have much to think about on our behalf and our producer/director is an absolute star. They say men can't multitask but, trust me, Kevin Russell is a better juggler than many women I know and seems to remain calm throughout!

We also have a co-director, Paul Vates, who brings fresh perspectives, comedy and encouragement to think outside the box. I couldn't wish for a better team to work with.

Hand-cut chips and eggsThe venue is simply gorgeous. It's very intimate and well respected in the theatre world. It's actually situated under the 'Curtains Up' pub in Kensington, which makes it very unique. We've been lunching at the pub and, my goodness, their food is scrummy. You should see their hand-cut chips and egg…in fact, look at the photo (left)!

The play itself is summed up as follows; two lifelong friends are enjoying a short break in rural France until a reminder of their childhood arrives allowing old quarrels to return. Can friendship survive when the past returns? Are their memories all the same? Can old wounds ever be healed? This provocative play asks if time plays tricks with the memory. What do you do when everything you think you remember changes?

It's definitely not one for the children as there are a few colourful words but it's a truly compelling play and I'd love for you to come along and maybe say hi in the bar afterwards if you'd like to.

If you do fancy coming along the box office number is 020 8932 4747. You can reserve your ticket without making a payment - just reserve and then come along!

I'm sooooo much more nervous than I ever am about my QVC shows! Scary but exhilarating!

See you soon!

Love,

Catherine x

Hi Catherine, just want to wish you luck in the play (break a leg isn’t it really) they say. I’m sure you will do well & you will look back after & wonder what you worried about. Hope lots of people turn up to watch and i hope this isn’t the start of giving up on qvc although i’m sure you will make a great actress.

Best of luck Catherine and I’m sure you and the other two ladies will all have a great time.
Your a natural on QVC and as long as those pesky lines stay in place you will be fabulous. Hope to get down and see you live the next time you hit the big stage. You’ve got all the makings – glamour, beauty and stunning good looks to be a great actress.

Thanks for all the lovely supportive comments. It’s amazing how much fun you can have when you challenge yourself, isn’t it? Terrifying, exciting, hard work, etc etc etc but regardless of how it all goes it has already been worth it for the people I’m working with and the buzz of doing something different.
I hope you’re all keeping well and I apologise for going on and on about the play but it really has been an amazing thing to be a part of.
    Loads of love,
    Catherine x
