The heart of every home is the kitchen…

Easy food preparation from cook's essentialsWell it certainly has been here at Chez Huntley over the past few months! I've always loved my cook's essentials cookware but I think it was buying my KitchenAid mixer that really got my creative culinary juices flowing! Since then we've made cupcakes, breads, stews, dumplings, smoothies and so much more. I recently also invested in the kitchenaid blender and am really getting great use out if it.

My most recent addition to the kitchen is the cook's essentials Today's Special Value offer, which is coming up at midnight on Tuesday and will feature all day on Wednesday at a price of under £20! It slices, dices, chips, juliennes, grates, zests and has lots of really great features. My son and I road-tested it by making potato rosti.

Potato rostis in the pan
I love the large container as it meant we could grate the potato and then just switch attachments and chop the onion straight into the container as well. Less messy than balancing a grater over a bowl and less tears chopping the onion this way than dicing it on a chopping board - speedier too.

Potato rostis, stuffed mushrooms and steakAs you can see the end result was a rather naughty, stodgy meal as we added large stuffed mushrooms to the rosti and Tom's super sirloin steaks. We really found the TSV so useful and it has replaced three different great kitchen gadgets I already own from QVC.

I'm so glad I use my diet chef from time to time to keep the weight in check as I have been over indulging since I got baking! The TSV will be so helpful with diet chef too, as I eat a lot of fresh fruit and veg and this will help with preparing salads. It even has a salad spinner included!

Inspirational weighing scalesA friend recently sent me this photo (click on the image to the left for a closer look) and I thought I'd share it with you, too. It's important to keep healthy but also important to retain perspective and enjoy cooking and eating. Nothing is worth sacrificing your happiness over. I hope you like it.

Catherine's nailsOne final thing…I get a lot of questions from people asking if my nails are my own. They are. It's great to grow your own nails. It saves a fortune on expensive extensions not to mention all the time in appointments. We have a superb Today's Special Value coming your way on Monday at midnight, which will be featured all day Tuesday at an incredible price.

It is the first ever TSV from Perfect Formula and is ideal for getting nails healthy, strong and long. As it's such a special occasion we are bringing the creator of the range over from the States to launch the collection. We'd love to hear how you've got on with the range too.

I hope you're well, happy and healthy.

Love, Catherine x

    Hi Catherine,
Wow you have been busy cooking, mind you the Kitchen Aid Mixer is fantastic, I purchased it when it came onto QVC several months ago, I use it a lot, it is a lovely sturdy machine and everything turns out so light. When you have something like this it makes life so much easier, and makes you determined to do more cooking. I must get down to some bread making, use to do it a lot. You see these Kitchen Aid machines on so many cookery programmes and all the top chefs use them. It is lovely what is written on the scales. Carry on enjoying your cooking
    Love Jean X
