The family holiday of a lifetime!

Craig's Dad, Jasmine, Ellie, Craig's Mum, Steve and Craig get set to sail Hi there, hope you are well and enjoying these brighter but still rather chilly days?!

As many of you may be aware (as I did nothing but talk about it for the last 6 months!) I've just come back from a family holiday on a Caribbean cruise and I thought you might like to hear a bit about it.

Well, one word sums it up – BLISS!! Not only the weather, the blue skies and the tropical blue seas but also the wonderful quality time we spent as a family.

Craig and his Mum celebrate her 60th birthday The reason for going was to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday, I had always vowed I would do something really special for her and after years of saving up I feel so blessed that I had the opportunity to do just that.

In these times where life seems to be in the fast lane I think sometimes we dont even really know our family and I am happy to say we all got on like a house on fire! Six of us in total – Mum, Dad, sister Ellie, her fiance Steve, my niece Jasmine and little ole me!

A perfect beach scene We left the UK on the 24th February flying to Miami for an overnight stop, we had intended to visit South Beach that evening but it was a 40 minute drive from the hotel and to be honest with the time difference and the long journey all we were up for was a drink by the pool on a lovely warm Miami evening, heaven.

Then, the following day we joined a ship called the Norwegian Dawn and set sail! We Craig's parents on a Caribbean island had three days at sea and then visited five islands – Dominican Republic, Tortola, St Kitts, Antigua and Barbados.

I have to say we all had our favourites, mine was Tortola – I loved it's hilly landscape, the lushness and the small island friendliness. Antigua came a close second and I would love to go back and perhaps visit the neighbouring island of Nevis one day too.

Craig enjoying himself in the Caribbean On the ship itself as you can imagine is just pure luxury, all the food you can eat, loads of entertainment, beautiful restaurants and so many great people to meet, talk to and dance with!

After a blissful nine days on the ship we then had a final day at Miami where

unbeknown to me Mr Anthony Heywood was also docked, a fact I only discovered after the event! Steve and Craig strike a pose on Miami's South Beach In Miami we spent the afternoon on South Beach sipping cocktails and people watching and there was also a big dance party on the beach which filled the whole beach with such a fun atmosphere.

Hope you like the photos, if you look closely on some of the photos of my Mum and sister you will notice they are wearing a Diamonique heart pendant – something I bought for them and gave on their first night on the ship as a momento and I was so flattered they both wore it a great deal throughout the holiday.

Have you ever or would you like to go on a cruise? Any big occasions you are celebrating this year? As always would love to read your comments below…

Much love and see you soon and happy birthday Mum, let's get thinking about how we can go even bigger and better for your 70th!!

Wow!!! after reading your blog I’m thinking of undertaking a mammoth trip like yours for my 40th birthday in 2013. It’s great to hear that you all had such a wonderful time.
Both my Mum and myself are glad to see you back, as we think you rock! I must go to bed now because I’m taking my Mum to a spa in the morning for her 58th birthday.
    Much love.

    Hi Craig
Good to hear you enjoyed your cruise.. We also enjoy cruising. First one was to the Caribbean taking in Costa Maya, Cozzamel,Caymen Islands and a few other islands. Then we went round the Med and are going round the Greek Islands in June. The most enjoyable holidays ever. I’m sure that having done it once you will keen to go again. There are so many great places to see and some really good offers at the moment.. Happy cruising

Hey Craig glad you all had an excellent time on the cruise. I always say to people if you get an opportunity to go on a cruise – DO IT!! The last family holiday we went on was a Caribbean cruise and my fav stops were, Tortola, Barbados and St Lucia. My mum all being well will be 70 this year so we’re going off on another cruise – yes another one – to visit more Caribbean islands 🙂

    Hi Craig
You seem to have had a fab holiday with your family. My husband and I were at Heathrow (enjoying the Bailey’s) at the same time before our trip to Thailand which in your words was also Bliss.I looked like a walking advert for QVC – Kim & CO top to bottom, birky’s and kipling.
    Glad to see you back.

    Hi Craig,
Good to hear you had a good cruise,as a family we love cruising. The Med is a great one and Dubai is fantastic.I am disabled and cruising is so easy as I can go anywhere and do everything, all accessible. We are going around the Italian Med in July and can’t wait. Try Royal Carribean Cruise Line, They are great.
