The Dyson hairdryer – does it live up to the hype?

3

After much hype, buzz and ground-breaking technology, I was really intrigued to test the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer. To be fair, I can honestly say I didn’t want it to work so I definitely went in with a pessimistic view. Although I respect the Dyson brand name, I was unsure as to whether the price would be reflected in the performance compared to the other excellent brand hairdryers that I have previously tested and used from QVC.

I can honestly say that from the first use, it literally ‘blew me away!’ It even sounds different – definitely more like being in a private jet. It gives a very quiet ‘whoosh’ sound which is unusual and the hair barely moves. When I first used it, part of my brain said ‘this isn’t going to dry my hair!’ but magically, because of the Dyson ‘think outside of the box’ technology it dries in a quarter of the time of a standard hairdryer and it halved the time of my previous top of the range hairdryer.

My hair was definitely glossier because of the technology and the cuticle is not being ruffled, which gives a more sealed-in finish to the hair. My personal recommendation is that although this is an investment, it will save you so much time, lessen heat damage, protect your colour and dry out your skin less (even at the highest settings it’s not very hot). It’s going to be most comfortable and efficient for a man to use on a beard because of the lack of damage to the skin and men are going to love the look and technology behind this product.

For anyone with thick or very curly hair – children or adult – and especially if you have gorgeous African/Caribbean or mixed race curls, hairdryers with diffusers (this comes with a diffuser) never give as good a result as leaving your hair to dry naturally (which can take half a day). This will be the very best hairdryer leaving a sealed, glossy and defined curl that’s frizz-free with speed drying.

I was pleasantly surprised that it has simple controls. I didn’t even read the instructions. I was half expecting a computerised control panel system which, previously on other hairdryers, have bamboozled me but this has a very simple on/off, cool button, 3 speed button, 3 heat levels button – very similar to what we’ve been used to all our lives. The technology is firmly hidden away in a very cool-looking design.

The proof of this product and the justification of its price point definitely has to be tested! Previously, on the high street, it’s been selling by word of mouth and from relatives that have tried it and then bought it themselves. With QVC’s 30 day money back guarantee, it’s perfect for you to put it to the test and try it yourselves.

See for yourselves what the fuss is about – try the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer right now!

Hi Alison.Had been waiting since before Christmas for QVC to get the Dyson hairdryer. Couldn’t wait any longer so bought it elsewhere. It dries my hair in half the time of my EGO and leaves it silkier and smoother. X
