The daughter of jazz drummer Syd Halliday, Jilly began her career as a professional dancer. Having appeared in West End musicals – and sung in a girl band – she moved into journalism, writing reviews and articles for top London newspapers. From there she dived into the world of television and has been presenting on QVC since 1994.

    Hi Jilly,
Hope you are feeling better. Things that make my day are pottering out in the garden or better still sitting down in the garden with a nice cupa, feet up and enjoying (while we have some) SUNSHINE!!
Have you tried the mochaccino not sure how you spell it, its coffee, chocolate, whipped cream and a flake! Its very nice. I must confess I cant drink too many-they make me go hyper!!! Take care

Hi Jilly, I hope your back’s a bit better now. I know only too well how disabilitating a sore back can be. I have a large tumor in my spine next to the spinal cord rendering it unoperable because of the dangers that could occur during the operation. So I just have to suffer it with the help of Loads of Medication and the MacMillan Nurses. They are great carers as all they can do for me is make me as comfortable as they can by means of massage, reflexology and head massages. Hope this makes your back pain seem loads better, Love Evelyn

    Hi Jilly
You were very attractive on the Diamonique show with that lovely red top!! I have to have one please please let me know where I can get one? If not available would you please ask QVC to get one made as it would be a wonderful top for the festive season. You looked unbelievable in it, not that you always look incredible apart from not having your ears pierced QVC should always include clip ons for your shows. Your hair looks much more blonde on
the TV have you had it lightened or is it because of your holiday? Love watching you on shows.

    Hi Jilly
I noticed that Julian has also confessed to being an X Factor Fan! There is a lot of us out there! Can I also confess to having to switch over to ITV2 straight after the main shows to watch the Xtra Factor! I’d love to be on the panel!! I’m liking Daniel in the over 25’s and Geordie Joe in Cheryl’s group, and Stacey, well she’s just adorable!! I’m thinking somebody from the over 25’s is going to win this year…but what do I know!!
    Keep Watching Jilly!

    Hi Jilly ,
Like you and the vast majority of the population watching X Factor last Sunday I too was gobsmacked when Simon wasted the opportunity to eliminate the Jedward twins. Nothing personal – I am sure they are nice boys – but Lucy was a much better singer. My conspiracy theories are as follows
    1. There is talk of Jedward being the new Ant and Dec and Simon always sees a money making opportunity when one comes along.
    2. Eliminate the serious competition (he also did it when he allowed Rachel ( who I thought was a stunning singer )to slip the net the week before!
    3. I dont think there is much love lost between Simon and Danni – a dig at her perhaps???
    4. Keeping Jedward in has given the show a lot of free publicity – I am sure this weeks viewing figures will reflect what happened last weekend!
Just wanted to add that my dad was a drummer too – he had a wonderful career – an early highlight of which was playing for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance (the same year that the Beatles were on – he got all their autographs but my mum gave them away to one of our Beatle fan neighbours !!!
Anyway – loved the statement ring TSV – managed to get the ring and also the bracelet and necklace and earring set in the blue quartzite – cannot wait to get them !!!
Best wishes to you and all at QVC x

    Hi Jilly
Afraid X Factor is not for me. I loved watching it before all the hype and particularly loved Sharon being on the panel. Shame who they replaced her with! Give me Strictly any day – particularly Ricky Whittle.

    Hi, Jilly!
I always love watching your shows, as you always seem to have so much fun doing them. But I do think it’s time for you to bite the bullet and finally go and get your ears pierced! I finally got mine done earlier this year for my 40th birthday, after years of dodging the question every time it came up in conversation with my friends, and I love it!! It doesn’t hurt at all, and is over in a fraction of a second – just a quick “snap” sound and that’s it, they’re done! So, go on – Be a devil and surprise us all!!! (Why not make it one of your New Year’s resolutions??!!!…)

Loved the Sonia Bitton show tonight. Had to chuckle to myself when you were saying about how sometimes, when you see a really nice pair of earrings, you think about maybe getting your ears pierced so you could wear them. I was like that myself for ages, and eventually did give in and get my ears pierced at the grand old age of 40. And I’ve got to tell you that I’ve never regretted doing it, so maybe you should think seriously about getting yours done too? It only takes a moment and really doesn’t hurt – honest!

    Hi Jilly,
I was watching QVC’s show this morning (31.08.11) on Cooks Essentials and the presenters mentioned a receipe of yours (they said Jilly), so I hope it was you! It was for a toffee apple sponge pudding cooked in a slow cooker. My sons are coming home this weekend on Thursday and would love to be able to cook it for them in my slow cooker. Hope to hear soon, best wishes.
    Regards. Joy

    Dear Jilly Halliday,
There haven’t been any Scifi Hours or Star Trek hours on Qvc now for over ten years or more? Why is that? I used to watch QVc all those years ago when you were on along with Debbie Flint, Paul Lavers, Julia Roberts whose still on QVC, and Tim Goodwin too who used to present the old Technology or Computer hours on QVC with Dale Franklin still on QVC too! I’m a sci-fi fan and like Star Trek, Doctor Who and other tv shows of that genre! The last item I bought from one of your old Sci-fi QVc Hours, was a Set of 84 Star Trek-Trading Cards back in 2001. Does QVC not have any new contacts with Sci-fi companies over Merchandising and, maybe new Comics Hours to show on QVC Shopping Channel at all? I used to watch a loud guy or guest who was on Comics Hours with one of your older presenters at the time, he wore tee-shirts and was from America? I also seen you on an old recording of Family Fortunes- Quiz show recently shown on Challange with your family at the time, when it was presented by Max Bygraves in the 1980’s, you looked so young and was doing modelling and other things at the time! I would be pleased for any reply you can send me!
    Kind regards,

I have tried so many times to leave the answer to the Elemis competition but cannot post it. I don’t understand what I am doing wrong. Can I leave my answer here – I love Elemis. The Frangipani shower cream is wonderful, the scent of it lingers in the bathroom for hours after I have used it and what more is there to say about the Marine Cream. The answer is LOVE. Please enter me in the competition. Marion Madden

    Dear Jilly,
I watched your show last week om Vionic Shoes. You had a lovely sequined grey top on. I telephoned Customer Service to see if I could buy one from QVC. They told me it was one of your own. So, I was wondering, if you get this message and you didn’t mind, please could you tell me where you bought it from, as I would dearly love to get one for myself.
    Thanks ever so much –

    Hi Jilly,
Watching you on the Kipling show right now. You look so lovely 🙂 I wonder if the animal print top you’re wearing and the gorgeous necklace and bracelet are available through QVC? I can guarantee, almost every time you are presenting I end up phoning QVC to see if the clothes you’re wearing are available. You always look so pretty.
Great show as always, have several Kiplings. Especially the more earthy colours.
    Regards, Debbie xx

Hi Jilly,Why don’t either you or Goody ever model your hair in the “hair” programs as both of you have great long hair and women with your length of hair watch. Usually shorter haired models appear.
