Temptations kitchenware

Soup and crackersHello! Just a quickie today as I'd like to share with you some thoughts on a range I've been road-testing at home. Back on QVC on the 12th of December, Temptations Ceramics is a range that comes to us from the USA and features ceramic bowls, plates, mugs, serving dishes that work from oven to table.

It's a great concept which minimises washing up (always a bonus!) and every piece looks really fresh and modern as well as being incredibly versatile.

I took three different sets home to test. First, I used the Soup, Mug and Sandwich Tray for Two. With the soup bowl and tray it was perfect for my quick lunch of soup and crackers (pictured above), but there are so many uses for this set!

For example, simply replace the soup bowl with the mug and use it for a steaming hot chocolate with a slice of cake on the side. Or fill the soup bowl with a nice dip, and use the tray for crudités or breadsticks. At breakfast time, use the bowl for cereal with some fruit or toast alongside on the tray. The list goes on and on – brilliantly useful!

Next I tried the Two Piece Roasting Dish with Spatula. I'm not sure why it's called a two piece as you actually get five pieces with this – a great big dish, with a ceramic lid AND a plastic lid which is handy for putting leftovers in the fridge, plus a funky polka dot spatula and a basket with carry handles so you can take the dish out of the oven, pop it in the basket and take it straight to the table.

Fish pieNow, when I say I tried this, what I actually mean is that I asked hubby to try it…I can't cook to save my life, instant soup and crackers is about my limit! Luckily he is a fabulous chef and whipped up a delicious fish pie (pictured on the left).

He was very impressed with this dish – for a start it is HUGE and we could easily have fed about eight people. You can also put more food, like garlic bread for example, on the ceramic lid and cook that at the same time.

In that picture you can also see the two plates from the final set I tried, the 8-Piece Dinnerware Set for Two. You get two mugs, bowls, dinner plates and side plates. It's so nice to have your cookware and tableware all matching, and even better when they're all oven, dishwasher and microwave-proof. Hubby and I both very much enjoyed using it – test drive judged a big success!

If you want to try it, tune in to our Temptations shows on the 12th. I think the range would make great Christmas gifts too!

See you soon

Hi Jackie, so glad to see this fantastic range back at QVC. I have several sets I bought a few years back and can honestly say they are as good as new, despite being used almost on a daily basis. I started collections of red poka dot and the sunflowers but alas QVC stopped stocking these. Any chance of expanding this range. Thank you for your great review (love the fact that you seem to love everything to do with the home, as I do !). With kind regards Helen

Hi Jackie, I have been a huge fan of Temptations since it was brought to qvc a few years ago. Sadly it seemed to disappear from listed products for a while, so I’m pleased to see its return. I wish we could have the wonderful range and variety that the QVC U.S appear to stock, so if you have any ‘clout’ at all, please get the buyers to bring the same level of choice we had all those years ago. Thanks.

    Hi Jackie,
I did watch the show the other night which had the Ceramics on, it looks really good, so useful, and lovely colours to brighten up your Kitchen, I have not purchased any as yet.
The fish pie your husband made looks delicious, I always remember fish pie from my young school day’s, it was awful and you were made to sit there and eat it, you felt really sick afterwards, goodness know’s what was in it. Put me off for ever I am afraid.
    Take Care.

    Hi Jean
Well I am glad to say my husband’s fish pie is delicious, but I know what you mean, a bad experience as a child can put you off something for life! Have a great Christmas.
