Amazon Kindle Paperwhite

Tech expert Lee Hohbein talks Kindles and Christmas

Hi there,

I hope you are well and have enjoyed the summer. I know it’s almost officially over but as I write this it’s a gorgeous sunny day in London and the forecast for the next few days predicts amazing weather. Therefore the outside living isn’t quite done yet and whether you’re inside or outside kicking back and enjoying some downtime it’s a great excuse to get lost in a book.

Talking of books I’ve never shied away from expressing my love for my Kindle. The incredible pocket-sized piece of tech that makes me laugh, cry, expands my vocabulary and reminds me day by day of the simple joys of reading is rarely out of my sight.

We did our first ever Kindle Paperwhite TSV back in June and it sold–out in record time. So many people missed out and I’ve had tons of messages asking if it will be coming back and I’m pleased to say that I’m the bearer of good news and it will be featuring as a Today’s Special Value offer on 23rd September and, once again, will be an incredible deal.

I’ve been a huge fan of the Kindle for several years since I first purchased one at the airport before catching a flight. I’ve always been a keen reader and anything that allows me to read more is a winner in my book. As much as I love physical books I’m not a fan of how heavy they are, how much space they take up and how they end up looking so dog-eared once I’ve finished with them.

My Kindle gets around all of those issues and also allows me to store thousands of books locally on the device, which is more than I’d probably read over a 20-year period! Better still, as long as I have a Wi-Fi connection I can download over 4 million books including over one million of them FREE from the Amazon Kindle online book store. Also, I don’t even need to worry about frequently charging the device as on one full charge I get up to four weeks usage which is simply incredible.

The Paperwhite is undoubtedly the best Kindle yet and because it now has an inbuilt backlight (unlike a tablet it doesn’t emit ‘blue light’ that can keep you awake) I can now even read in the dark without having to keep a light on. It really is THE best way to experience reading and once you try it you’ll realize why millions of people across the world are such avid Kindle fans.

Even though the weather is still being kind to us we can’t forget that the nights are drawing in and Christmas is only three months away. The exceptional value of the Kindle TSV makes it super affordable as a gifting idea and anyone receiving it as a present over the festive season will be owning a piece of technology that will make them think of you every time they pick it up (which will be VERY frequently).

I really hope you can join the lovely Alison Keenan and myself at midnight on Friday 23rd September and we can tell you more about this fantastic Amazon TSV and why it has revolutionised the way millions of us now read books

(Join us at midnight, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and 10pm).

Thanks for reading and see you soon.

Can’t wait. Could kick myself that I missed out last time. Love the Amazon Kindle app but too heavy to read for any length of time on my tablet.

I couldn’t be without my Kindle. I’ve actually got the HDX 7 so not only do I use it for reading, but also surfing the web, checking email and so much more! I’m really interested in the Paperwhite though, so that I have a device purely dedicated to reading as I’m a voracious bookworm and can’t sleep without a good book!
