Take a look at my home grown produce

Charlie's budding strawberries Hi, hope you had a great weekend… they go so quickly!

I'm really excited about our home grown produce!  Ok, we're not farmers but we're making a start.

We were lucky enough to inherit a stunning cherry tree when we bought our home, but unfortunately the birds seem to get most of the crop each year. Perhaps you have some advice on a friendly way to keep the birds from our tree.

We also have an apple tree, but the real excitement is the strawberries we're growing. To begin with the plants looked quite sorry for themselves (this is quite normal I was assured) but within days they were coming along a treat – now they are full of life. We will get strawberries this year and even more next year!

Happy growing, see you next week.

Charlie x

Wow, well done Charlie! I keep on promising to grow my own produce but plants just seem to die around me! Let me know what you find the easiest for a beginner…I’m thinking berries or tomatoes, maybe?
    See you soon!

Charlie when you were recently on presenting you mentioned that your great grandad was a sheriff and that you would tell the full story in your blog. He sounds very interesting.

Hi charley, well thanks to you and Mr Jackson i am now the proud owner of two lots of strawberry plants in the baskets! I’m taking the plunge and planting them this weekend and i’m scared to death! lol! I’ve never grown planted or mowed anything but i have recently moved to house with, horror of all horrors, a 96 foot garden. I hope they really are as easy as you said as i really love the idea of growing my own produce. I shall keep you posted, and let you know when i am sitting down with my first bowl of homegrown strawberries and cream, or maybe Yasiyo!!!!!! Love Bernadette x

    Hi Charlie
I am still very much learning about gardening, would love to grow my own fruit and veg sometime. I am however learning about growing pretty summer flowers. I have learned a lot from watching gardening on qvc. i was never interested until i had my own place, but now i am.
Let us know how your strawberries do.
Hope your injury is getting better.
    Love Julie
