Following my last blog, it was slightly hairy what with balancing coming in and out of QVC last week but the cake got made eventually!

Firstly of course came the sponge (Wednesday) … honestly, since I treated myself to a KitchenAid, I’ve not looked back, it’s the most wonderful appliance to have for such occasions as this!!

Secondly came the green icing (Thursday) …. I had decided to do a horse themed cake although wasn’t quite sure how it would work out. The first batch of icing took about 3 bottles to get a very pale green (the bit around the bottom) but then our lovely kitchen manager at QVC gave me some proper stuff!! Hey presto, a grassy cake!

Then came the decoration … I melted some chocolate buttons straight in a piping bag and then piped out a couple of horse jumps and wrote Myles’s name etc then popped it in the fridge to go hard.
Finally, I had ordered some sugar paper horses on ebay so then just came the assembly (Friday)

Hope you are all well
