Supple, toned, energised – and that’s just my skin

I am heading off to Paris soon for a short break; my only ‘holiday’ of the summer. I say summer, but I’m afraid even I have to admit that the summer is well and truly gone,  and with it any hope of keeping my fresh summer look and feel.

I don’t know if you feel the same, but, in the summertime I always feel that my skin feels and looks healthier, more toned and more energised. I dread the change into autumn/winter and bemoan the fact that I cannot keep my ‘summer skin’. Well now I think I can, with the help of our Gatineau Today’s Special Value, which will be on-air throughout Sunday 10th September.

I am currently in the midst of a two-week trial of the Defilift 3D Body Oil and Body Brush, which both come as part of the Today’s Special Value set. I will admit it, I have difficult skin! It can be dry and a bit sensitive, and in the last year or two it’s really starting to show significant signs of ageing – such as lines, wrinkles, uneven tone and texture, and loss of elasticity (someday I will accept the fact that I am no longer 26 and am actually 46!).

So far I am really feeling the benefits from using the body brush before showering applying the Body Oil afterwards. Very quickly I noticed a difference, in fact, I noticed a difference from the first time I did this!

The luxurious Defilift 3D Body Oil helps to keep skin feeling intensively hydrated, firmer, smoother and more supple. With a wonderful blend including ivy extract and green tea, this energising formula helps your body maintain its natural circulation and works to reduce the appearance of uneven texture. It also has anti-ageing properties, helping to improve the look of slackened skin while smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It really does tick a lot of boxes.

You only need to use a small a amount and, whilst it is an oil, it doesn’t leave an ‘oil slick’ feel on the skin. It sinks in quickly upon application and on top of all of that it smells so good too! You know how I like a good fragrance, and with ingredients such as lotus extract, you get a subtle, uplifting and comforting fragrance. Finally, you have the body brush which, by the way, is such good quality as well. It’s made from beech wood and has cactus fibre bristles.

I had heard about body brushing before, but it wasn’t something I had ever done. I previously wasn’t really sure what the point was, but I actually think I do now really notice a difference. I use it quite gently – as I do have sensitive skin – but the benefits are noticeable and really quick. It’s really simple to do too, instructions are included with the Today’s Special Value.

Body brushing is another thing which is apparently really good for maintaining natural levels of circulation and helps with the natural release of unwanted toxins, which can help reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone. As well as that, it also provides an exfoliating routine, removing dead skin cells to reveal stimulated, smooth and bright skin. Hence why I think this can help me hold on to my ‘summer skin’ look.

I definitely recommend at least trying this two-week trial yourself at home when you get the Today’s Special Value. Then you can give it time to see what a difference it can make for you.

The Today’s Special Value isn’t just about the Body Oil and body brush though. The set also has products for the face, neck and delicate eye area – all usual suspects for really showing signs of ageing and slackening skin.

Personally, I’ve noticed my eyes and neck particularly are getting really slack. For example, I was at the optician the other day (yet another sign that I am ageing!) and I was looking in the mirror at some glasses. The first thing I noticed were the lines and wrinkles around my eyes. Then, as I turned to speak to the optician and I glanced sideways at myself in the mirror, I noticed the skin on my neck hadn’t really turned with my head, but rather sat where it was in a slack wrinkled puddle around the neckline of my sweater.

Right then and there I knew action had to be taken, so I for one am thankful for this Today’s Special Value! You’ll get the Strategie Jeunesse Firming Throat Gel, Defilift 3D Eye Contour Lift, and the Defilift 3D Perfect Design Redefining Performance Cream. Each of these formulas help you achieve a lifted and contoured appearance to the skin on your face, neck and around your eyes.

So I’ve decided to continue with my two-week trial of the body brushing and Body Oil to see the further difference it can make to my skin. I already I notice that my skin feels more supple, toned and energised – now if only someone could invent something to make, not only my skin, but me as a person, more supple, toned and energised without having to go to the gym! Well, that’s something I would also definitely be happy to trial. Until then though, I shall happily continue using my Defilift 3D Body Oil.

Until next time, stay supple, toned and energised!

Miceal xx

Hi Miceal Well can I say you don’t look your age at all!
Having a long term Chronic health condition my energy levels very low I was looking for a regime that was quick easy and kept my health as good as it could be I began body brushing pre-bath and Elemis frangipani oil after bath. I’m convinced this has improved my circulation and body function. It’s an easy routine.
For the times when time and money allow Yoga and being out in the fresh air too each day is a great tonic. Keep well happy and healthy too. Thank you for a lovely blog. X
