Super Busy at QVC!

Misty and BrambleHello, hope you've had a good week.

My last few days off were somewhat disastrous with an emergency visit to the vet for our two Cairn Terriers.

They managed to get hold of some of dad's medication from his suitcase. The first I knew about it was seeing half chewed capsules across our back lawn. We were so worried not knowing if they had or hadn't eaten any of the medication. We called our vet on the emergency number and were advised to take them in.

Misty and Bramble were both given an injection to induce sickness followed by a special meal to help absorb the medication. They were kept under observation for the morning. Misty's heart rate slowed considerably and the vet was considering further treatment when, fortunately, things began to return to normal. The veterinary care was amazing and both Misty and Bramble have made a full recovery! They've just celebrated their first birthday and they're both back to their mischievous ways! Phew! It was such a worrying time and I've gained a few more grey hairs.

Matt Goss performingThis week has been so busy at QVC. I had a call from my scheduler asking me to be on stand by to do an interview. Well, after a few days of waiting it was confirmed I'd be interviewing Matt Goss! You'll remember him I'm sure, from his days of Bros – nearly 30 years ago!

I was given his album to listen to. In all honesty I didn't know what to expect. Well, it's nothing short of outstanding! It's already receiving great accolades and reviews. You can catch my interview and Matt's two performances this Saturday evening (28th Sept) in Debbie's Saturday Night Gifts show. Nearer the show I'll tweet a more accurate time of when it'll be on air. My Twitter is @mecharliebrook.

Matt and Claire

Matt's studio performances were brilliant and he is such a lovely person, a real gentlemen. Our very own Claire Sutton delayed her journey home and joined us in the studio to grab a quick introduction with the man himself. Claire promptly tweeted the photo saying how gorgeous he was and that he smelt 'delish'! Enough said!

Speaking of Saturday, I'm on air at midnight with our new TSV. It's from Lenovo and it's a 10.1" tablet. Lee Hobein will be keeping me company. It's a fabulous package we've put together for you, I hope you can tune in!

Destination Gems returns Tuesday at 8pm…. It's not too late to enter the competition. To find out more just click here.

Also, if you've been missing Ralph and Honora Pearls I'm launching the new TSV this coming Wednesday 2nd October at midnight.

Ok, better dash. Time to walk the dogs, grab a bite to eat, clean out the wheelie bin (don't ask!), shower (needed after the wheelie bin!) then head to work!

Take care,

Charlie x

Your pups are gorgeous, where has the year gone. I have two puppies Ratchett and Bertie, they are Weimaraner/lab cross and they to get up to mischief they are 8 months old. I am glad they have recovered. We had sort of the same happen to us, albeit the other way round. My dad suffers from Alzheimer’s and he is on a lot of medication and he lined his tablets up and took them all not realising he had taken one of his dog’s tablets as well. We checked with his doctor and as the tablet was only for his skin condition , doctor said it should not bother him.
As I type this the pups are having a nap, peace at last
    Take care. Debi x

    Hi Charlie,
I am so glad Misty and Bramble are okay, what a worry, they are worse than children aren’t they, you have to be behind them all the time. Happy birthday to them, did they have a party.
As I mentioned in your other blog my two Labrador dog puppies are a year old next month, party with the older dogs. They have got the taste for blackberries, when they go out in the paddock they rush along the hedges eating all the blackberries, not giving a thought to my apple and blackberry crumble.
It sounds like you are really busy at QVC. Hope you did not fall in the wheelie bin.
Take care and look after those gorgeous pup’s of your’s
    Regards Jean.

My Chocolate Labrador eats anything and we have to be so careful with Tablets.
As She lives here with my elderly parents we have trained her to go to her crate when taking medication and she only has to see a pill bottle or rattle of tablets to know she must go to her bed until she is called.
    Glad the Pups are well.

Hello Jean and happy birthday to your Labrador puppies… At what age do we stop saying puppy? I’m not sure, ours are just over a year now but they’re still referred to as the pups!
Hearing about your crumble has made my mouth water… Mmmm delicious! I wonder what pudding I can dig out from the fridge!
    Take care

Hello Debi, your pups sound adorable. What a relief for your Dad! Phew!
It reminds me of when my Dad came out of the bathroom saying he wasn’t very impressed with the shower gel I’d left on the side… On closer inspection we discovered he’d bathed with my HAIR gel!
    Take care

Hello Susannah, Amica passed away peacefully on the 10th August. All of our love and thoughts are with her family.
Amica was a dear friend to so many of us and I struggle to believe I won’t see her anymore. She was a dear friend who will be loved and missed forever.
    Warmest regards
