Sunny Wales, a big paint job and the cutest kittens

Hi all.

As ever, the holidays have been jam-packed with all sorts of goodness… not to mention hoards of chocolate so here’s a quick catch up…

We went off to Wales as soon as we broke up and had a blast in Pembrokeshire near the coast for the almost scorching weekend before Easter. Screens away and time to explore, it was the first time that we had ALL gone on holiday together, both my two and also Brian’s two boys and the 6 of us had a blast. We cycled everywhere, spent hours going down slides at a waterpark, walked through woods, found fairy houses, ate lots of great food and came home refreshed and suitably exhausted at the same time.

Whilst we were away, one of the cats down at the yard where Beth lives had her babies. We were on holiday last year and missed out on choosing a kitten and so this year were top of the list. I’ve been taking photos most days and watching them grow and sharing them on twitter. It’s soooo hard to choose but I think we’re there. We’ve chosen a grey with a stripy face …but are sooooo tempted with one of the white ones too, they all have gorgeous grey ears and stripy tails!

The other thing I’ve been sharing on twitter has been the progression of the bookcase… or my mini library as some of you have already pointed out! I’ve finally finished painting and now just need to finish filling it up. We are thrilled to bits and it was definitely worth the wrist, arm, shoulder and back aches!!!

They say Easter bank holiday weekend tends to fill A&E depts with DIY accidents, I’m glad to say that we are all still standing and in one piece! I hope you’ve had a lovely Easter and look forward to catching up soon.

Much love as always,

Pipa x

Hi Pippa Looks like you had a great time. I am just a little sad that your friend allows her cat to breed there are so many cats and kittens desperately needing homes. The kittens are lovely lets hope they all go to a good home as your obviously will.

Oh we LOVE the Brecon Beacons Lorraine!! I love seeing little ones on bikes, I think it’s such a fun thing for them to do! I used to live in Holland and couldn’t believe how many children one Mum could get on her bike!! Much love, P xx

Hi Pipa, (and Brian), soooo nice to see the lovely Brian in the pics, looking as smiley and good looking as ever. I must say you all looked to be having the best time, and how nice to hear that the blended family members are having good times together. Loved the fairy houses and grotto, right up my street, I have a fairy door at the end of my garden and lots of children over the years have been intrigued by it. Loved the cats too, I no longer keep cats as I am not able to cope with the heartache when they get old and die, but have always been a ‘cat person’ at heart. Our last cat was called ‘Olive’ and we have a stone ‘Spirit of Olive cat’ outside our door into the garden.

    Love as ever
    Cindy

LOL Cindy, you’ll make Brian blush!! Our last cat Bootsie was sadly knocked down by a car, I was devastated so I totally know what you mean! We placed her ashes in a potted magnolia plant, it get’s referred to as Bootsie …she’s flowering already this year 🙂 xx

Pippa you have to get two, they will keep each other company when you’re out. Better still, take them all!!

Hi pipa, I absolutely love your mini library! It’s amazing! It must have taken an age to build and paint!! Gorgeous photos of your team as well. You’re a lovely family. Glad you all had a fun Easter x

    Hi Pipa,
What lovely happy, smiley family pics. Glad you all enjoyed Wales. I love it so much I have moved to LLanfwrog, Ruthin in The Vale of Clwyd where my fur baby (Fox Terrier) Roxy & I are sooo happy here!
It’s listed as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and it sure is.
Stay happy & keep smiling. Lotsa love, Karen 💫💖xxx

Oh you lucky thing Karen! Our plan is to retire in Wales, we want to buy a small farm one day …I often look online at what’s available, I keep having to remind myself that the children are still in school and we need to wait!! xx

Hi Pipa, youre home looks stunning, I can see your new kitten(s) making little hidey-holes in your new bookcase! As for the lady’s comments re kittens, well Im sure your friend is a responsible breeder and the kittens go to good homes. I have always adopted my cats from Cats Protection but that is a personal choice. You will love them but let your husband know he will be pushed down the pecking order! Ha Gillian, I hadn’t thought of that! Sherbet (our cat) loves to hide in cupboards, silly thing! I can’t tell you how many times he gets himself closed in! We are very excited about getting the new kitten/s xx
