I've just returned from an annual family vacation, not just close family but extended, plus a few family friends, making our total party 18 people, hectic! Coupled with that chaos, 42C degrees was maximum temperature in the daytime which is sweltering!
We all love a summer holiday, the kids are off school, the sun is out and everyone seems in more of a happy carefree attitude. But I'm getting older I'm starting to realise I don't like extreme temperature or weather of any type, not sure I can handle it anymore. Whilst the days felt very hot, the nights just seemed hotter and that made it difficult to sleep.
I've always travelled, so I'm used to being away from my own bed and creature comforts but again as time goes by I'm less able to tolerate an average mattress and poor quality sheets, am i becoming a bed snob? Despite having a brilliant time with everyone on holiday, having so much fun and laughter that my belly hurt, I started to pine a good nights sleep in my own bed. To add to that unfortunately I was ill for a couple of days too with the usual travel tummy, headache and tiredness and this just completely wiped me out in the heat. When we feel under the weather, we just want to go home and get a good nights sleep.
Normally I have to be dragged back from any trip kicking and screaming, not this time I was happy to come home after a fortnight away. I just wanted my own comfortable, familiar bed with soft luxury bedding that I know I love getting into.
Before I knew about Northern Nights I thought creating that luxury bedroom sanctuary could only be achieved by spending a fortune, I've changed my mind. Northern Nights, despite using luxury textiles and superior natural materials can still be purchased at QVC at a price that offers incredible value for money, fine quality cotton and a variety of looks to suit any room. I truly believe that the quality of your sleep environment effects the quality of your sleep.
Come and experience Northern Nights at a very special anniversary price, tune in to QVC on Sunday 4th August at midnight (and throughout the day) for an incredible TSV on a six-piece 500 thread count reversible 100% cotton bed set. One side is a gorgeous classic vintage inspired rose design, the other has delicate dots for a different look (see the 'biscuit' option on my bed, pictured above), choose from a variety of colours. I believe every person in every bed deserves a little luxury, for those precious 8 hours a night let your body enjoy the luxury NN experience.
One more tip that I've picked up, change your bed sheets just before you go on any trip so that you can look forwards to getting in fresh clean bedding when you get back! Apparently mums are always right, here's what my mum says, "You can't beat a good nights sleep!"
