Summer fun and our Look of the Week

Yowzer it’s hot isn’t it?! I’m not complaining though for a minute. I love this weather; it means we get to spend so much longer outside. This is particularly good with small kids as they are so happy with just a simple £3 paddling pool! Living on the south coast means we get to have some fantastic beach days. We spent Father’s Day out on the water with the stand up paddle board. The water was so incredibly warm and where we went was so shallow all the way out so it was perfect for Tilda and Ivy.

We had such a lovely time splashing about. Ivy lay down on the front of the board while Tilda did her best to stand up. She doesn’t quite get the concept of not ‘rocking the boat’ though so I took a tumble into the water along with Ivy which gave her a shock as you can imagine. Obviously they had their floaty jackets on though so all was fine.

I also gave myself a kick up the bum and went for a power walk/run. I haven’t been doing any exercise and I’ve been feeling really sluggish. Juggling work, kids and everything else means time for yourself isn’t always easy to take but I’m realizing how important it is. If you’re not taking care of yourself then something is going to fall apart at some point and it will probably be you!

So I’m really going to try and do it more. I felt so good after, even though it was so hot so I definitely walked more than I ran. I took my Bkr glass water bottle with me and added a few slices of cucumber as it makes water a little more interesting!

I also spent a gorgeous day last week supporting my mum’s Captains Day at her golf club. Along with my dad, we were helping to run the day and most importantly the refreshment hut at the 9th hole. There was a pretty nice golf trip up for grabs as the prize, so anyone who was playing well was sticking with juice while those who were already struggling gave in to a beer or a glass of wine. Here’s my mum in her golf cart! The day was a great success and it was so nice to be able to support my mum on her big day.

Here at QVC there will no doubt be lots being filmed in the garden set, it’s not a bad way to spend your time at work is it?! Keep an eye out for the shoes I will be wearing a lot of this week as they feature in our Look of the Week which you can see here.

They are the Clarks Helio Minden wedge slingback sandal and they are ridiculously comfortable. Not too high and really easy to get your feet into as they open up so well. I’ve teamed them with a Ronnie Nicole cold shoulder dress. Keep an eye out for the Look of the Week online, it’s a great way to discover fashion brands here at QVC that you might not have come across yet.

Let me know what you think and also what plans you have in this weather. Are you loving it or staying in the shade?

As always, you can also keep up with me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
