Well it’s been a long time coming but at last we’ve had some lovely sunshine. We’ve taken full advantage of it by dining al fresco every night this week, admiring my plants that are laden with flowers thanks to Richard Jackson’s Flower Power and sipping wine with the fragrance of my Yankee verbena candle scenting the air – that’s more like it!
We also took full advantage of the sunshine by having the roof off the car when we drove up to Nottingham on Monday to visit my mum – Ultrasun factor 30 for me and a baseball cap for Chris before any of you go telling Alison Young! Mum hadn’t sent my birthday present as it was breakable – I was intrigued. She had bought me a ceramic kettle and two china mugs to have in my writing room/ office when it finally gets finished.
We have been a little side-tracked getting the spare bedroom finished so that she can come and stay with us later in the summer. Considering she will be ninety in three weeks time she looks AMAZING! We spent a lot of the afternoon encouraging her to finish some of the short stories she enjoys writing as I would like to publish them for her as one of her birthday presents – now you know where I get my love of writing from.
Thanks to everyone who came along to my book signing in Windsor last Saturday. It was lovely to meet QVC viewers but also visitors from overseas who were in Windsor hoping to catch sight of ‘her majesty’.
How appropriate was this white feather cloud sitting over Waterstones – if you’ve read my books, you will know the significance.
My books are currently en route to Belgium and Hong Kong and one has spent the week on holiday in Florida with Fiona Brackenberry who tweeted me these lovely pictures. She has finished the trilogy now and, like Sam Doubledee from Northern Nights who I caught up with at work yesterday, says she loved it. Getting such positive feedback about something you have spent months of your life creating is very gratifying, so again I thank those of you who have left me reviews on a well-known website that sounds like a south American river!!!
As I’m sure most of you know, Fiona and Keeley from Elemis are really good friends and I’m looking forward to spending time with Keeley this weekend as it is the Elemis TSV on Sunday. Our show is at 11am and, as well as the TSV, which includes Sweet Orchid Body Oil (currently exclusive to QVC) and is fabulous value, there is another kit of Sweet Orchid body cream and Sweet Orchid hand and nail cream, plus a men’s kit AND something to keep your feet happy in this heat!
Spotlight on Jewellery returns tonight at 6pm after the finale of Diamonique Week which has moved Fashion on Friday an hour earlier today at 4pm and is Attitudes by Renee featuring the WWC jeans TSV – if there is any left.
The necklace I’m wearing in this picture is not on tonight’s Spotlight on Jewellery, it is the Lola Rose TSV and I had to laugh when I realised I posed for the photo wearing an ex Antthony TSV top and last weeks H by Halston jacket – I’m soooo QVC!
If you are too then here are some of my recommendations on this week’s Focus on Fashion:
There are two hours of Susan Graver fashion at 3pm and 9pm on Sunday. I’ve selected this peplum back top, which is available in black, sea breeze, deep orchid and a pink (currently nameless on our website) because it is at a feature price under £30 – unusual for this range. Then, fast forward to Wednesday for the Nina Leonard TSV. To compliment the bow-back long-line cardigan, available in five colours: black, camel, hawaiian ocean, navy and vibrant violet, there is a tulip hem printed tunic. We’ve done a similar style before in block colours and sleeveless, but this has a cap sleeve and I think may be even more popular, and it comes in a purple multi!. To finish off the outfit for under £100 there are these narrow straight leg trousers in black, navy or camel, which are in a choice of regular or petite length.
Well, I’m not going to put my hours on here this week as there have been lots of changes lately due to presenter sporting injuries… I think I’m safer sitting writing!
Hope the weather lasts and that you have a fabulous weekend
