Still busy building… but keeping the nails tip top!

Hello everyone, I hope you’re well and enjoying the prettier weather we’ve been having.

Isn’t it odd though? One day it’s like summer and the next I have to get my winter coat back out! Ah well, variety is the spice of life and we certainly have varied weather in this country!

I’m so grateful that it’s no longer freezing cold as it makes working on my house 100 times more bearable; it’s taking time but I am getting there. This week I had the workout of my life cutting down pieces of ceiling and replacing them with new plasterboard in preparation for plastering. I was at it for almost 10 hours! The next day I could hardly move my arms!

I’m looking forward to the plastering as I can hand over to someone else to do the work, at last. It’s mostly been just me and Steve, my very good friend who is a property developer, but we can’t be there all the time as we both have our full time jobs. I’m averaging 1-2 days per week so – that being considered – am doing very well even if it’s taking a long time overall. I got a picture of Steve using one of our QVC DIY products; it’s a Batavia speed saw and helped us to safely cut through plasterboard. We really do have some fab little gadgets for home improvements.

I’ve had a few questions about the nail polishes I’ve been wearing over the last week. They are from our forthcoming Perfect Formula Today’s Special Value offer. It launches on Wednesday night at midnight and will feature all day Thursday. I love it when we can bring you exceptional value and we really have with this one. We currently sell two bottles of the Perfect Formula pink gel coat for £25. In this set we include the two bottles of pink gel coat and we are also adding three coloured gel coats, all presented in a gorgeous gift box. All of this will be at a special price of around £25 just for 24 hours! How great is that?

In addition we will have an Auto Delivery option whereby you can get the same great value 60 days later but with three fresh new colours! It’s not just colour, remember… they’re all treatment polishes so if you’re unhappy with the condition of your nails this would be perfect kit to try and your nails will be looking great whilst they’re being treated.

As well as getting nails looking good it’s important to care for what’s on the inside of our bodies, too. If you’re interested in looking and feeling good tune in on the 23rd at 6pm for lots of ways to feel healthy and beautiful. These fantastic supplements will be featuring – I love the convenience of them! Rather than opening several bottles you have each day’s supplements arranged in a handy strip as you can see here. I’m much more likely to take supplements this way than if I’m dashing out the door and having to decant out of several bottles and packets. Great idea, isn’t it?

In between working on the house and working at my beloved QVC I always like to find time to get together with both of my children for an outing. This month we went to see Miss Saigon together. It was wonderful. I remember, back in the 80s and 90s listening to my mums cassettes of this musical but I’d never had the chance to see it until now. It was amazing, if slightly different to the original I know from the tapes. Tom, Chrissie and I really enjoyed it, though. It’s these little gems of time together as three musketeers that keep me going even when times are so crazy busy.

I highly recommend making time for a ‘date night’ at least once a month with those who are special to you. Even if it’s just time to watch a film on TV together, or enjoy a couple of hours walking in the sunshine, it’s those moments which are important to re-energise and recharge the soul.

Time to say TTFN (ta ta for now) and see you soon,

Love Catherine xxx

Hi Catherine. Well done on getting stuck into the house renovations – girl power! It means so much when you’ve done it yourself & gives you a real sense of achievement.

I’ll keep an eye out for the speed saw. My Dad is a big DIY-er & he says all the tools I’ve bought him from QVC are the best quality he owns.

Lovely photo of you & your babies – your daughter is the image of you!

I’ll be watching on PF day. I had tried EVERYTHING QVC & the high st had to offer & nothing worked on my bendy, peeling, splitting nails – UNTIL PF!! Now I use it every day & my nails are long & strong for the first time in my life. BIG THANKS to QVC for bringing it to us. xxxxx

Hi Catherine. I am glad you are enjoying your renovation project, and although it is very hard work, at least when it is done it will be a great sense of pride and achievement. The one question I want to ask is how are you, finding out how to do all the jobs that involves in a project like yours like plasterboard and the other jobs you have done so far, I am really interested as I want to know how to do this stuff but cannot rely on d.i.y books, as they don’t give you enough info. Catherine any help on how you started your house project will really make my day.
Thank you my glam girl powered house builder hero. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xx

    Hi Maria!

I hope you’re well. Rather embarrassed to see its been a month since you left your comment! So sorry, I forget to check back sometimes.

Really pleased to hear your dad loves qvc DIY products! We do get some pretty good bits of kit on.

Lovely to know that perfect formula has been so good for you, too. It’s great having your own long, strong nails, isn’t it? Especially with all the wonderful polishes we have to prettify them!

    Keep well & happy,

    Love Catherine x

    Hi Debbie,

Thanks so much for your complimentary post! Much appreciated.

Massive apologies for the delay in replying…hanging my head in shame. So sorry but I forget to check back often enough to see if anyone has replied.

In answer to your question…I have a brilliant builder friend who gives me one day a week on site and teaches me what to do. I also look things up on youtube and builder websites. I just type things in that I need to know on google and there’s a mine of info. For example “how to fit plasterboard”. It’s good to check with someone in the trade before you dive in but doing your homework yourself saves time and arms you with knowledge.

I do have some plans to share what I’ve learned once I’m all done so watch this space!

    Hope you’re well,

    Catherine xx

Could you please let me know if you are still selling the Perfect Formular as I would like to purchase some pink nail coat which I have had before and it was really good for my brittle weak nails.
