Yes it's true – I've been away from QVC Towers but not away from "Old Blighty". For a whole host of reasons we decided to stay in the UK and we had a very enjoyable time.
I know we have uncertain weather here but it seems that is spreading to many European countries as well. I was talking to Paul one of our Senior Directors and he experienced a lot of cloud and rain in Majorca at the same time!
That said, I spent a few days in the garden literally chilling out and we also spent a few days on the Sussex coast, and out and about at places like London Zoo (check out the meerkat's expression – 'who me?!').
We also went to another T20 cricket match which my daughter loved as much, if not more, than my son, as she joined me in dancing in our seats after every 4 or 6! This only made my son slink down in his seat with his collar up! My daughter didn't really care what we did on holiday anyway – as she was so excited that I managed to secure her some 'The Wanted' tickets for their tour next spring.
I reckon my UK tan is only slighter lighter than when we do go abroad and it'll probably last longer too! If Alison Young asks it's fake! OK?! I did miss the paella though!
I also had the pleasure of meeting up with more customers yesterday at the preview of 'The Jewellery Style Makers Event' which is showcasing on the weekend of the 20th/21st August and will feature the work of around 13 of our top jewellery designers.
The day was a great success and our invited customers had the chance of meeting Roger Latham from Lola Rose, Diane Hall from Dower & Hall, Sara Ho from SHO, Ana De Costa and a welcome newcomer Joanna Dahdah, along with their fabulous ranges of jewellery.
I hope you had, will have or are having a great summer, and I'll be back in touch soon.
