Due to its popularity earlier in the year, the Spotlight on Jewellery series of shows returns to QVC at 6pm this evening, but before I talk about that I wanted to shine the spotlight on this gorgeous pair of ruby and citrine earrings. Why? Well, they are the prize, very generously donated by Simon Wilson, for one very lucky winner of the competition I am launching on here today to celebrate his twentieth anniversary of being on QVC. Although Simon’s shows are coming up later in August, on the 21st, 23rd and 24th, I thought we should mark this momentous occasion by launching the competition early to give as many people as possible the chance to enter. It also coincides very nicely with the return of Spotlight on Jewellery!
So these stunning earrings are from Simon’s real gems collection and will not be available to buy at QVC. There is over 22 carats of ruby in cabachon ovals, rounds and heart shapes, as well as faceted marquise stones, framed by citrine and set in sterling silver. I’m sure you’ll agree these are gorgeous and are worth every penny of the recommended price in Simon’s shop of £1000!
To be in with a chance of winning them, you simply need to answer this question:
Q. Which wedding anniversary does the ruby represent?
a) 35 years
b) 40 years
c) 45 years
You have until midnight on 20th August to post your replies on my blog and the randomly selected winner will be announced during the Spotlight on Jewellery show that Simon is joining me for on 21st of August. Good luck! See the full terms and conditions
As we approach his anniversary shows I will try and find some photos of us down the years but someone tweeted this picture last week of a show that Simon and I did together from a manor house in Buckinghamshire – a FREEZING cold manor house in Buckinghamshire. Behind us was a huge open log fire and that was the only thing keeping our teeth from chattering! I have many fond memories of our shows together, if you do please share them on here.
So to tonight’s Spotlight on Jewellery at 6pm. We are kicking off the series by featuring Frank Usher, Clogau, Or-Paz ( the stunning silver climber earrings) and Gossip watches. You may have noticed me wearing a new watch on air this week? It is part of a duo pack for under £25 so maybe get in a bit of early bird Christmas shopping.
Speaking of which, I hope you all enjoyed Christmas in July last Friday. I particularly enjoyed ‘murdering’ the song Frozen when we were selling a karaoke machine. If you missed it, here is a chance to view. If you watched it, you may want to skip this bit of my blog!
There was also the chance for early Christmas shopping with our Elemis TSV on Sunday. It was so lovely to work with Keeley again and I must confess I am loving the new British Botanicals body cream – what do you think? I had lots of comments about the Onjenu dress I was wearing. It’s no longer available in the print I had on but it is available in other print options on our website – really flattering shape!
Just before I finish I wanted to let you know that I can confirm that signed copies of my novel, ‘Life’s a Beach and Then…’, will be available to purchase on the QVC website from Monday 10th August. I will be donating a percentage from every book sold to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. The price will be £11, which includes postage and packing and I will put the item number on here next Friday. If you want the electronic reader version, it will be on a special ‘summer offer’ this weekend on a well-known website (think South American river), where you can also read the 62 reviews to help you decide if you might like it. Thanks to everyone who has reviewed it so far – much appreciated. You can check my Julia Roberts TV Facebook page for more details.
Hope the weather improves for us all soon and have a great weekend.
