I don’t know about you but BOY I am so glad March has arrived! The most dull and cold two months of the year are over, and the sun will definitely be coming out more. Mother’s Day and Easter are all on the way, and we’ve got the lighter nights to look forward to – it’s all very exciting, isn’t it?
With the change in the seasons, comes another chance to refresh our wardrobes and this Friday 13th March on QVC is looking at just that, with our Spotlight on Spring Style. Since I arrived at QVC, I’ve paid much more attention to colours and garment shape when it comes to my own clothes, aiming for pieces that are more flattering and getting myself out of the rut of wearing black all the time (though I haven’t kicked my black skinny jeans habit just yet)
With all the expert tips and hints we offer (on what goes well with what, and how to accessorise) it’s hard to get it wrong, because our Fashion guests and stylists make everything so effortless. I’ve recommended some of my favourites that you should keep an eye out for throughout the day from Tiana B, Clarks (with a fabulous wedge sandal as our Today’s Special Value), Liz Claiborne New York, Fashion by Henfrey London, MarlaWynne, Lulu Guinness, Links of London and Diamonique. Not forgetting we’ll be seeing shows from exceptional Greek brand, Join Clothes. It’s been named the Go-To Designer for Spring and many of us girls (Jackie & I included) love wearing Join pieces on air.
Take a look at my video with the lovely Will Gowing showing off some of my best picks. And if you can’t wait until Friday, then why not browse around right now…
Despite being busy at home giving our place a badly-needed lick of paint, I got to see a few friends and take some cheesy-grin selfies along the way…
My friend Deena and I managed to fit in a visit to see a pal, Beverley Knight, in her new West End Show, MEMPHIS – it was a celebration of the launch of the official album of songs that accompanies the show. A fabulous love story set against the backdrop of racism in the American Deep South. It’s a real foot-tapper, so if you can get to see it at the Shaftesbury Theatre in Central London, then do! Nice to bump into Jason Gardiner (former judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice) and our very own Kelly Hoppen at the party too!
I popped up to the BBC in Salford to continue with a series of workshops I’m helping out with. For the last two sessions in Birmingham and Bristol I’ve covered the TV side of things but this time round it was Babita Sharma – who’s a Newsreader for BBC World News. So I did the radio training in the Radio 5Live studios. I bumped into my friend Rowetta, who’s a singer with the Happy Mondays. She jetted off to Mexico with the band this week as they celebrate 25 years in the business! #talentedgirl
