Spot the rounders ball in the photo!

Alison playing rounders It feels like I've hardly had time to draw breath over the last six days, and have so much to fill you in on… I thought I'd put fingers to keypad now!

Rounders! Or should it be rounders? In my case it's very much a bit of both. For those of you who have no idea what I'm wittering on about, QVC Towers decided to suggest a night of sociable exercise for us presenters – in the shape of a rounders match.

We obediently formed a formidable team of 10, and were pitched against a frighteningly fit and youthful side made of all those boys and girls who work backstage here.

I personally haven't even picked up a rounders bat since I was 13 and had trouble hitting the ball then – now I can't even see it! We didn't get the chance to practice unfortunately and so when it was my turn to bat, I positioned myself, raised my bat, swung… and hit myself in the head with the bat, missing the ball completely!

In spite of my humiliation, feeling I am amongst friends, I thought I'd set you a competition involving the photo of said showdown (above). Look carefully at the picture and see if you can spot where the ball landed… you don't need to be any more specific than 'top right' etc… but I'd love to hear :)

Oh, and in case you're interested, we lost by one point, although Julia demanded a recount!

Love Ali x

Ali it’s probably at your feet or somewhere behind you if you couldn’t see it! It seems to have been a great afternoon for the presenters and a good day had by all. A few of you have had something to say about it on your blogs. Quite competitive you presenter types 🙂
I think you and Julia should demand a rematch lol

Well Steven, I think it fair to say ‘you’re warm!’…but I’ll wait a few more days before giving the answer 🙂 Yes it was a really good evening and we have a couple more matches to play before the tournament is over but i don’t think I’ll be asked again…funny that. Hope all’s well with you and yours. Love Ali x

Hi Dorothy, thank you for your guess…. I’m going to leave it a couple of days before I give the answer but there was more than a passing resemblance to a panto performance by yours truly I can tell you. I would like to think we are good sports, but I was definitely a ‘sore’ loser with a bump over my eye than was not particularly attractive 🙂 Lovely to hear from you Love ali x

That’s very sweet of you Steve. I did reply to this, but I hope you all have a great holiday. I’ve been to Tenerife – two years ago in fact – and it was lovely. Masses to do, and some great live bands in the evening. I’m sure you’re counting the days.
