Hand-picked rose and PeonyI adore flowers in my home but never thought I would give in to faux flowers…well I didn't until I started to see some of the stunning arrangements that Julie Bates from Peony was bringing to QVC.

I love roses and lillies, one of my favourite combinations.

My lovely neighbour brought me some beautiful hand-picked roses from her garden…I put them next to Peony roses and you really couldn't tell which was one was Peony. I was stunned.

The only giveaway was the smell and after a few days the hand-picked rose began to droop and needed a water change.

Can you tell which one is my Peony rose and which one is my hand-picked rose?

Lots of love
Jill x

Heavens to Murgatroyd, well blow me down, all of the roses look real. I always have at least two or three vases of fresh flowers about the house and wouldn’t really consider any faux flowers. However, these look pretty realistic Jill. Perhaps I may be tempted next time the lovely Julie has a show. I do believe that flowers, as with music, truly lift the soul. Having said that, they also lift the notes from my wallet each week, so maybe it’s time to invest in Peony.

P.S. “Heavens to Murgatroyd” looks so very strange when written down. I wonder what it’s origins are…..

    Hi Jill,
Wasn’t that kind of your neighbour? There’s a German saying that ‘a good neighbour doubles the value of your home’ – not of course just in £ terms but all the nice things too! I think the real ones are on the left but that’s only because they are drooping slightly. I could be wrong though! The Peony ones are so true to life and would make a lovely present.
I am not a great gardener but my uncle bought us a fragrant rose as a housewarming present. It’s been wonderful, survived my gardening “skills” and I love inhaling the scent!
    Keep well,
    Beth XXX.

    Hi Jill,
It is very hard to say which is real and which is Peony, but I am going to guess at the Pink Roses as the real one’s. I have lots of the Peony arrangements and love them all. I also love the passion that Julie has for her work.
I am so sorry to hear that beautiful Schruncher is still missing, you must feel so sad not knowing where he is, hope your other one is okay. I know how much you love your dogs. I have several dogs and I love them all.
Hope he comes home to you soon.
    Love Jean xx
