Sparkles!

On sunny mornings, since around Christmas, we’ve had lights dancing around our lounge like little fairies and for a while I thought it was our mosaic framed mirror causing them… but I was wrong! The culprit is actually the mosaic shade of the Yankee Candle I bought as our Christmas candle.FairiesYankee CandleSadly, Snow in Love, the fragrance I also burn when I’m squirrelled away in the loft writing, finished last weekend but all is not lost as I ordered last week’s Big Deal on one of QVC’s extra channels and am really enjoying Sandalwood Vanilla. It was a really good deal too… two large jar candles for a couple of pounds more than the price of one in the shops, which should keep me going for a while. I actually have a Yankee Candle show on the main channel next Friday at 3pm if you’re as big a fan as me.

By the way, if you haven’t checked out the Big Deals on the extra channels, you should. They run from midnight Sunday to the following Sunday or as long as stocks last and we have a fashion one, a beauty one and a general one each week.

Speaking of things potentially selling out, I don’t know how much longer the Benefit Beauty Product of the Month will last. We only launched it on-air last Friday and already the majority of the stock for the whole of February has gone! ‘Launched it’ is quite appropriate actually as all our models on the day were wearing pink spaceman outfits because of the space-age technology in the formula. Although it was fun, and very visual, I was quite concerned about them having enough oxygen inside their fishbowl helmets.

I wonder if you’ve tried it yet? I’ve seen some very positive feedback on the Back to You Facebook page and I must say I’m a fan myself. The moment I touch the slim flexible wand to my lashes it turns them jet black and fans them out beautifully with no clumping. I only use one or two coats but find that is enough. Mascara is a very personal choice but if you’re on the lookout for a new one, give it a go while it’s available with free P&P and while we have stock.

Well, I’m sure it hasn’t escaped your notice that it is Valentine’s Day this coming week. For those of you who like to read romances I have written a short story, called ‘Recipe for Love’, which will be free to download on my website from the day. We’ve also had some very romantic offerings on QVC including the Diamonique featured piece this month, a heart enveloped in angel wings.

It can be such a difficult time for those not in a relationship which is why this year people are celebrating ‘Galentine’s Day’ and ‘Palentine’s Day’! I’m not sure how I feel about that – what do you think?

I called this blog ‘Sparkles’ and I couldn’t possibly finish without pointing you in the direction of the first Butler & Wilson shows of 2018 on Thursday. Kathy has an hour at midday (if she’s back at work – get well soon Kathy, we miss you) and I have a two hour show from 5 -7pm. I’m so looking forward to seeing Simon and hearing all about his latest creations.Butler & Wilson

And I should also mention we have a Laura Geller TSV the following day which includes my favourite foundation of hers, Balance and Glow, and a very sparkly lip gloss. Sparkles really was an apt title for this week’s blog.

Have a great weekend!

Much love,

Julia xx

In a different subject, I loved the grey strapped watch you were wearing during Frank Usher show yesterday. What make is it?
    Love your style of presenting.

      Hi Molly
There are 2 grey strap watches I wear – pale one is Lola Rose & darker one (which I think I was wearing) is the Pilgrim horoscope watch.
Thanks for your kind comments about my presenting

      Hello Hazel
I’m sorry to hear about your mum – it’s never easy but even worse so close to Christmas – sending a big hug.
Hoping Will pushes for the ‘Wilfie’ bear as that is his nickname too.
      Much love

Love your blogs, valentines day should be it’s meant to be in my opinion for couples. We can treat our friends at anytime. I went into a card shop and saw valentine cards you could send to your parents and sons and daughters, a lady turned round and said whatever next. Love buying my yankee products from QVC as the sets put together are excelent as are all the products you show. Look forward to your next blog, enjoy your week.

      Hi Theresa
I agree with you – I don’t like days getting ‘hijacked’ by card companies etc. for commercial reasons. I realise it’s not always the easiest of days, particularly if you’re alone or if you’ve lost a partner but we all have ‘difficult’ days to deal with. Happy for ‘Pals Day’ or ‘Girlfriends Day’ just not with the obvious connection to Valentine’s Day. Maybe I’m just being bah humbug.
Glad you enjoy my blogs & our QVC Yankee Candle deals
      Love

    Hi Julia
I’m enjoying your blog and must try that lovely soup recipe. I really think your presenting skills are brilliant. I’m a great QVC fan and my benefit mascara arrived today but I’ve not tried it yet. Would love to read your short story what is the website you mention?
