To help you get re-acquainted with the colourful world of South Western Silver we invited Carolyn to chat to us about some of the beautiful designs and the men and women behind them.
The latest range features pieces designed by Native American artisans and the shows, on QVC TV this Thursday and Friday, will be based on the Indian market that Carolyn supports and where the artisans presented their work – the Santa Fe Festival.
Here is Carolyn with a little insider knowledge…
There is really nothing like it! Santa Fe Indian Market is the largest and most renowned Native arts event in the world, and each year over 1,000 artists and 100,000 visitors come from around the world. I love the excitement upon entering the plaza at 7am, the anticipation of reuniting with artists and friends we have met over the past 18 years that we have been involved.
Indian Market is a celebration of the best Native American art you can find, but half the fun is seeing the spectacular South Western fashions that collectors and artists wear on the plaza. Seeing the bold ensembles and meeting the bold personalities that go with them is such an inspiration to me.
For the last 3 years, we’ve sponsored the Indian Market Auction Gala, which is definitely the most glamorous event of the weekend, and this year we were so excited to set up a Red Carpet and capture some of these glamorous ensembles for our collectors. It was so much fun! We met many of the amazing collectors and artists who make Santa Fe Indian Market as vibrant and successful as it is, and we got some great photos of them in their jewellery.

Veronica Benally’s personality is bright and happy, and that shines through in every piece she designs for us. We call Veronica our 'nature girl' because she loves using elements from nature, such as butterflies and flowers, in a feminine, whimsical way. She is also a wonderful mother to three, and you’ll find a motherly perspective, a feeling of joy and generosity, in all of her designs.
Fritz Casuse says he wants his jewellery pieces to appear to be coming to life, and that’s definitely the case in this beautiful hummingbird design cuff bracelet. There is so much detail here! Fritz is a sculptor and you can see his passion for depth and movement in the unique sculptural details of this highly dimensional piece.
You’ll find so many traditional details in this ring from Native American designer Roderick Tenorio. When Roderick is designing he really tries to bring a wealth of tribal history, religion, myths and characters into each and every piece, and you can see that here in the traditional symbols, including a spiral that represents everlasting life.
There is so much joyful and unexpected colour in the Southwest and we love finding bold gemstones that bring these amazing hues to life. Native Americans are known for infusing their art with meaningful symbols, and we’ve drawn upon some of these symbols to create this unique and heartfelt design.
Beaded jewellery is definitely at the heart of Southwestern style, really capturing the fun, spirited lifestyle and casual elegance of life in the American West. The color are festive and happy, and we think the sun symbols will put a smile on your face!
