Something to SHOUT about!

16

Anastacia, Chaka Khan & Lulu 'Here Come the Girls' is the name of the show, and it really was something to 'SHOUT' about! Last night at the Hammersmith Apollo, a few short hours after appearing on QVC with her skincare range, out very own Lulu teamed up with Chaka Khan and Anastacia for an entertainment extravaganza.

They performed everything from Motown classics to Robbie Williams' 'Angels', plus some great renditions of their own hits. Six backing dancers completed the show's line-up and I have to say, it was FABULOUS!

Ali K, Lulu & Julia And how do I know this? 'Cause I was right there, smack bang in the middle of row three with Ali K to my left and Sophie, my daughter, to my right. We sang along and bopped the night away – we even tried to get Ali Young, who was there too, up on her feet to join in, but I'm afraid we failed miserably! Although rumour has it, with total disregard for any potential wrinkle formation, she was smiling… LOL!!!

Sophie & Lulu So, three iconic females from the music industry, three strong voices and incredible energy, particularly from Lulu during her performance of 'SHOUT!'. It's almost impossible to believe that she's 61 and soon to be a grandmother… it must be all the great skincare she uses! If you have a look on YouTube you'll find a vid of her singing 'Mercy' and you can see for yourself just how great she looks!

If you get a chance to see the 'Here Come the Girls' show then don't miss it, it's a real 'feel good' night out. They're in Brighton tonight, Oxford tomorrow, my home city of Nottingham next Tuesday and Lulu's home town of Glasgow next Thursday.

Just a thought, if there was a 'Here Come the Boys' tour, which three male vocalists would you like to see perform together? Personally I'd go for Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder and Barry Manilow OR a younger trio of Justin Timberlake, Usher and Ne-Yo… I know which line-up Sophie would prefer! Who would your top three male singers be?

And talking of top males, Ralph Rossini is back in town with his latest Honora pearls TSV launching at midnight tonight with Ali K… if she's got any voice left, that is!

Speak soon,
Love,
Julia. xx.

I agree…..it was an AMAZING concert…one not to be missed, perfect for a girl’s night out! My personal highlight was the cover of “Angels”…truely amazing!
My 3 singers for ‘Here come the boys’ would have to be Neyo, Lionel Richie nd a bit of Bryan Adams!

    Hi Julia
The concert sound amazing, Iam going to Egypt mid Jan for 2 weeks (via London) and I will spend some time in London on the way back, I would love to go.
It is great that you and Sophie go out and have good fun together, she sounds like a great girl ( but do tell her that she also have a great mum).
My 3 singers for “Here come the boys” would be phil Collin (like you), Lionel Richie ( like Sophie) and George Michael.

    Hi Magda
Hope you have a great time in Egypt – somewhere I have never been but always think I will go ‘one day’! Hope you get the chance to see the ‘Here come the Girls’ show when you are in the UK and remember to let me know your dates, although I am away myself from the 18th of January.
    Good choice of ‘boys’
    much love

Glad you had a great night listening to the ‘girls’You all look amazing in the photos.
My three ‘boys’ would be Michael Buble, Marti Pellow (Wet Wet Wet )and Tom Jones – a good mix of voices there !-although how fantastic would it have been to have had the musical genius of Michael Jackson, Elvis and Frank Sinatra singing together.
Wish all at QVC a cool yule, regards and best wishes, Rachel

    Hi Steven
That is a very eclectic mix!! Lulu and Kylie I can see leaping around but it would be very interesting to see if Katherine Jenkins can ……….. mind you she has gone very ‘hip’ with her latest release covering one of my favourite Evanescence (is that how it’s spelt?) tracks! Now for the boys???????????
