Something for nothing

Just a quickie if anyone lives near the Van Hage Garden Centre in Hertfordshire, you will know that they have a lovely animal section that you can wonder around. Well, during the summer hols they're running some meet and greet sessions and we just happened to stumble upon a 'Face your Fears' session, which I think is happening every Monday at 3pm.

The kids got to come face to face with a scorpion, a tarantula, a rat and a snake, to name but a few, and could even touch some of them, which they absolutely loved. Needless to say I just stood there and tried not to look petrified. It took me a couple of cappuccinos to recover! A lovely free afternoon though, which makes a change. I'll bring my camera next time.

Have you had any free days out yet this summer?

Hi Jilly. Wanted to let you know about a wonderful place i have been to with my 2 daughters when they were younger. It’s a place in Beaconsfield called ODDS FARM. It isn’t expensive to get in and you and your children will love it. You can feed the animals and hold them. Also there is a place to have a picnic or buy food/drinks. Also go on a tractor ride round the farm. It is well worth a visit though it might have changed a bit since we were there. Keep up the good work. Diane.

Hi Jilly, love reading your blogs, my children are abit older now but maybe you can have a look at Gullivers Land in Milton Keynes, its a theme park for younger ones and i’ve even seen the Beckhams there!!!
    Take care
