Sofas ordered for the new house

Well I've done it! I've taken the plunge, gone out on a limb and done something really scary!

Yes, I've ordered the red sofas and I'm petrified I've done the right thing. It's so hard to visualise how things are going to look in your own home when you are standing in the shop.

I did take on board all your comments (thank you so much) especially the one from Teresa who said "No don't go for red!" but I went with the majority of you who said do it and if they look hidoeus then it won't be my fault, ha ha!

I'll take a photo when they arrive, but you might have to wait a while as they are not being delivered until April! I never knew sofas took so long to come, is that normal?

Thanks for your help,

Glad to see that you have ordered your red sofas. I am glad you didn’t listen to me, what a responsibility if you had taken my advice!
I am sure you will love them when they arrive and well done for being so brave – you are a braver lady than me. If you listen carefully you can probably hear me “clucking” being the “chicken” that I am and being frightened to try something new!
Sofas and many other things these days do take weeks to arrive with you. Gone are the days when things were made and in stock and you could have them the same day. It is a pity though as if I want something I want it like “yesterday”.
    Take care and kind regards.
    Teresa – “cluck, cluck”!

    Hi Jilly
I ordered my leather sofas on Boxing Day and was told that they would take 10 weeks to arrive. Made in Italy and coming from Italy, I was told. I got them delivered on Tuesday so I think the shop may have over estimated slightly.
Looking forward to seeing your red sofas. Brave choice to make, I must say but I’m sure they will look fab!

Hi Jilly, would you have sat and wondered what red sofas would have looked like in the room if you hadn’t gone for them? Having regretted not doing things more times than I care to remember I have decided to do things in the future (if it is possible to) rather than sit on the fence – apart from which it is painful on the fence!
The decorating around the sofas can be more muted to take the impact a little and dot similar reds around the room to spread the colour. And there are always QVC throws. (I’ve been reading too many decorating articles!)
    Have fun and pics please.
Hugs to you and your family

    Hi Jilly.
My previous suite was red, then when we bought our new one, we went for cream. I always wanted a cream suite.
Now all i can say is … bring back my red suite! The cream one was lovely…BEFORE the children!
Im definatley getting a red one again, with removeable covers and scotch guard next time.
The do take a while to arrive as they make them to order now. Too many designs to keep stocked i expect.
Im sure the red sofas will look lovely.
