Snowy London, Beauty Bash & 3 ways to get involved…

Craig and his snowmanHi there,

Hope you have been keeping warm and safe in the snow and cold?

London I know wasn't affected as badly as some parts of the country but it was still a winter wonderland here! Last weekend I was due to go and see friends in the country but had to cancel those plans as they were snowed in. So, instead I made the most of being in London, enjoyed the city in the snow and even attempted a snowy run in Regents Park.. (yes, I must be mad and have since ordered another pair of Wintertrax!!) – the picture is of Regents Park.

This week was also the QVC Beauty Bash; I had never been before and it was truly an amazing day – I love skincare and have this last year or so started doing more skincare shows. It was great to meet and get some wonderful feedback from viewers and was also a fun day with colleagues Ali young, Julia, Will & the newest team member Chloe. In the photo below you can see us having fun in the photo booth and me having a laugh with 2 very smiley QVC viewers who were by their own admission complete beauty addicts!!

Craig, Chloe and Will Having fun at the Beauty Bash

This weekend I am off to Bristol to see my family and to organise and supervise over the madness of my niece Jasmine's 10th birthday party. We are playing Laser Quest, having pizza then going home for games, pressies and a movie. If you are someone who follows me on Twitter or Facebook thanks for the suggestions and I will keep you posted over the weekend. I will also put some pics on this blog next week. My sister is also due any day now, a very exciting time for the family, again I promise I will let you know when I have a new niece or nephew!!!

Finally, thank you SO much for your responses to my new blog feature "3 things" – I loved reading them and PLEASE let me know what they are again this week. Here are mine…

BEST BIT OF THE WEEK: This has to be the day I spent at the QVC Beauty Bash – it reminded me just how much of a big family QVC is and how blessed I am to do the job I do. I feel so privileged to have had a whole day with colleagues I adore, chatting to guests and brands I respect so much and most important having lots of laughs & hugs with beloved QVC viewers. I am still reeling from it all!

FAVOURITE PRODUCT OF THE WEEK: I did say this wouldn't always be a QVC product and this week it isn't!! It's actually a shirt I bought with QVC model, stylist and self confessed shopping addict Katherine Russell ( I find it really hard to get well-fitted, smart, trendy shirts and this one I LOVE, and what's more it was half price in the Calvin Klein sale, I had loads of compliments at the Beauty Bash wearing it, it's on the pics but I will wear it on air soon for you.

HAPPY THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: Experiencing Regents Park in the snow made me think about the wonder of the natural world, the light, the textures and the beauty. Let's take 5 minutes sometimes just to breathe in this wonderful world.

Now, I want to know yours….. I will read them all, I will reply to you and I will try and read out on air on QVC too.

Hugs and lots of love,

Hi Smiler! Good to see you had some snowy fun time, I hope it made up for your disrupted travel plans. I’m also pleased to see you enjoying the company of two lovely fellow smilers. Maybe there’s an idea for a club in there!! Come to think of it ,I find myself smiling away as I think/type what makes me break into a broad grin and normally somesort of chuckle right behind it! See smiling has a knock on effect!!
My ‘3 of the best’ this week are:
Bit- Being proactive in setting the wheels in motion to return to work, albeit in a new capacity, after a long stretch away whilst learning to adjust to a health condition.
Product- It has to be my wonderful Centigrade coat, bought on ‘easy pay’. Being a Fibro sufferer, the cold doesn’t do me any favours. But this long, down filled coat has been fantastic.
Thought-Dads are fab! I’m 46 and my Dad told me how proud he is of me this week!! Bless him, he’s such a lovely man.
Have a truly happy week Craig,’chat’ soon, Sarah x

Best bit of the week; celebrating the 6yr anniversary of donating a kidney to my step dad. We have a lovely big family meal every year on the anniversary of the operation.
Favorite product; so many to choose from but have been using Elemis quiet mind bath elixer a lot this week!
Happy thought for the week; remember to appreciate all the little things :-)

Product: Still getting used to Tresonics – not sure I like it!!
Happy Thought: Work is feeling more positive and somewhat enjoyable lately than the usual doom and gloom

Hi Craig , loving your snowman, typical he even has a smiling face like you ! Loved reading about your nieces birthday on facebook, sounds like you had a blast. Family are so important and memories like that really do last a lifetime. Heres my best bits :
Best Bit: Being snowed in, having a pajamma day watching films with my yankee candles (snow in love , and christmas rose) burning in the background.
Product: 53 piece yankee candle set in the new fragrances (TSV). Lush ! Can’t wait for the big jars to come back in stock.
Happy Thought: Having a little extra ‘me time’ to truly appreciate the little things, like watching the snow softly fall, seeing a robin on my windowsill and the children sleighing on the hills. Rounding it all off with a cup of hot chocolate with a big dollop of cream ! You gotta love winter !! Love and hugs, Helen x

Favourite product has to be my Mulberry purse to match my bag. Love it!
Happy thought. Remembering how lovely it feels to hold my baby grandson. Only three weeks old.
Hope to see you on screen soon,
Love & best wishes Sharon xx

Hi Craig love your blogs and seeing you on air you are one of my favourites. I just want to have a moan and I thought you would be the one who understands (lucky you) I have been with QVC since almost the beginning and buy all my beauty products from QVC. I know I spend far too much but I do get compliments abot my skin so that justifies what I spend. However I get very jealous at other viewers who get invited to the beauty bash and I never do. How do they do it? Moan over carry on doing what you do so well.
    Love from Marie xx

    hi Sarah
always great to hear from you :-)
Hope all is well back at work and i wish you well with health…
Loved the happy thought of the week about your dad, I remember my dad saying that to me when I had gone to Jamaica to see family and to go back to my roots, it was really touching and I remember feeling really emotional when he said it.
    Much love, your fellow smiler!

    Hi Lisa & family
lovely to hear from you. Shame you had to change plan because of the snow too, crazy wasn’t it?!
I love craft too, I am not much of a crafter but I love doing the shows with the experts. Very sad Stephanie has gone but her and I are great friends and always will be.
And we are lucky to have Marion and the lovely Caroline and we always have fun.
I will pass on that you would love craft day…!!

    Hello lovely Sarah P!
Great to hear from you (as always!)…
love your 3 things; especially your girlie lunch, cant beat time with great friends can you!?
How long have you had your Tresonics? Dont keep it if you are not getting on with it.
I have the Clarisonics and I must admit I only use it once a week, partly because I forget and partly because I feel that is all my skin needs. I love how clean my skin feels though and it does get rid of horrid blackheads after wearing make-up at work…
Glad to hear work is going better, I think when you have a more positive frame of mind that seeps into all areas of your life but good on you for making it better!
    Much love
    Speak soon

    Hi Sharon
    ahhhh, I adore your 3 things! Bread, Mulberry & a darling Grandson….
I reckon you might have the perfect recipe for happiness there!!
I almost bought a breadmaker last week but I figured I would end up living on bread which is not the best thing for my belly which seems to look ever bigger on the telly!! eeek!
I am though planning on making a victoria sandwich cake with a mixer I am trying out, I will let you know how I get on!
Lovely to hear from you and do write with your 3 things again next week!

    Hi Barbara
haha, I can just picture you cat!! Not the biggest fans of snow are they! My friends Siamese cats p’eed on their bed in protest of not being to go outside!! Rather naughty!!
I also love Liz earle C&P – I use it as one of my cleansers at work to take off make up – it does a great job.
10 grandchildren – wow that must keep you busy.
I sadly don’t have a grandmother but when I did, I adored her and there are many times I think about her and shed a tear, she made my childhood so special and I miss her even though she passed away almost 10 years ago…
Much love, do write again next week

    Hi Marie
Lovely to hear from you and thank you for your kind words.
As for the BB, yes this is something I have heard from other people who have been at QVC from the start, iI wish I had an answer or some words of wisdom for you.
What I do know is that some of the tickets are allocated and a big chunk are chosen at random. It might be worth you emailing and expressing your views on this.
All I can say is I hope that you will get a chance at some point and in the meantime from a personal point of view I cannot thank you enough for continuing to buy from QVC, I realise you have lots of choice where you buy so for me it is a privilege that you keep buying from us and is very much appreciated.
    Big hugs
