Well it came again, same time as last year but worse! No not Christmas – the snow! Now before I start my blog I want to say that I saw a video on Sky News in which locals in Scotland were shovelling snow that was shoulder high! On that basis my pictures are rather tame but for the south of England they are quite rare.
Our cars have been snowed in for two days now and I think they will be for a few more yet. Our cars are rear wheel drive and automatic (about the worst configuration in heavy snow) so we cannot get out of our close or up the road that connects to the B road which has been gritted.
The roads are almost empty except for the odd 4×4 passing by, their drivers have a certain smile on their faces (who can blame them – this is their moment). The dustmen haven’t been for two days and to be fair it would be daft for them to come into our road at the moment.
My kids and their pals are living in Narnia (without the beasties!) Their schools are closed and they are truly enjoying the fun side of deep snow. Toby our Bearded Collie loves it except for the first fall of snow that formed huge ice balls on his legs (see the photo above). Today it is more powder and he’s fared much better.
Keep safe and warm.
