Winter gardening

During the winter months I do a lot of virtual gardening. Basically, this entails me sitting on my couch and looking out into the garden checking that there are no rabbits eating my plants and the grass doesn’t need cutting.

I expend no energy with a spade at all! I just sit there reading gardening magazines, planning and designing how I can make my garden look like Richard Jackson’s.

Of course, come springtime the plans never seem to materialise and whatever plants I do put in my garden still get eaten by the rabbits, and the grass is always in need of a trim. But as my Dad used to say…" that’s gardening!"

Why don’t you try it out this winter?

I felt guilt about being lazy so I have actually been out there digging in loads of organic matter and I hope it makes a difference come springtime!
