Please help!! My hair is thinning rapidly at the front – the area above my forehead is virtually bald. It started about 5 years ago and nothing I use seems to help. Why has this happened and is there any product you can recommend to stimulate the follicles and help my hair return to its naturally curly, thick former glory!?

Is it more beneficial to use prior to shampooing, or as a treatment conditioner after washing your hair?
Also how long should you wait before or after using hair colour? Thanks.

I have very fine hair, To make it look thicker I have it coloured every three months. I am 60 and I now have lots of grey hair, and these grey hairs are coarser.
Do you think I should not colour it any more and would elasticizer help to add volume?

Last year I stopped my HRT after being on it for in excess of 20 years, I am only in my early fifties.
Since then I have found that my hair started thinning dramatically, i.e coming out when I washed it in a handful.
It seems to have settled a bit now but my hair is thinner in places and obviously my hair is no longer thick.
I use your elasticizer, body building shampoo and conditioner along with the maximizer.
What else can I do to improve my hair and is this permanent now?

Hi, I’ve been using Philip Kingsley elasticsizer for a few months now, before this I was putting my hair up everyday as it was really course and frizzy, but now I’m finding I can leave it down and I’ve thrown away the straighteners at last. My question is, during the day I’ve been using a little bit of hair oil just on the ends of my hair. But wondering will the elasticsizer I use as a treatment over night be able to penetrate my hair still, even though I use the oil during the day time ? Oh and a big thank you PK, I now wash my hair and not a single strand is left behind in the shower. It’s all down to the miracle elasticsizer. Can’t thank you enough. X

I started losing my hair at age 26, and it also went ‘white’ at the same time, (having had dark brown hair this was a shock) – I was told by the GP it was due to severe stress in my life – well I accepted this and tried to change my life, but my hair has continued to get thinner & thinner – my natural hair colour is dark brown, very fine and naturally curly – I have it past my shoulders but layered so I can get volume and back-brush it into looking like I have a decent head of hair. I’m looking for something to give me really big volume, and that won’t weight my hair down, as I can only use a tiny amount of conditioner when washing it – I have had to put a permanent hair dye on my hair since age 26, so it needs to protect the colour too. My hair is silky and in great condition, just needs to look bigger lol! Many thanks. Julie

Perhaps this is age related as my skin is becoming more oily also

I have an itchy, flaky scalp which comes away when scratched or rubbed gently with a comb. My doctor suggested a treatment for psoriasis but it’s not doing anything. Would the scalp tonic help? I’m also finding dry and flaky skin on my body which isn’t aided by even the toughest moisturisers; it’s still there the next day. This makes me suspect that both this and the scalp issue are down to side-effects of medication and that a different approach may be needed. What can you suggest? My hair is shoulder-length, normal thickness and slightly dry. Thanks and god bless.

    Hi Philip
I’ve been using your hair care products for a long time now, especially your elasticiser, which I absolutely love, and which I use all over my hair and leave overnight, and just on the dry ends of my hair before washing for a few minutes. I have very fine, colour treated hair, so use your moisture balance shampoo and body building conditioner. Before I dry/style it, I spray maximiser into the roots, but can I use the mousse through my hair first, and then use the maximiser at the roots, because I like to get lots of volume in my hair, or else it goes flat? Or will it go lank, and need washing?
By the way I have been using a large elasticiser for about two years, and just coming to the end of it, and I still get the same wonderful results. So I find it very economical
Thank you in advance for answering my questions.

My question is – does your hair ever get used to it so that it becomes less effective after a length of time? Is it better to take a break every so often or is continued use long term ok? I use once or twice a week depending on how my hair looks and feels. Thank you x

I have experienced an early menopause and found that my hair keeps breaking so much so that my hair never appears to get any longer.
I have very fine curly hair, that if I leave curly always ends up a frizzy mess. Elasticizer has helped and I use your shampoo, conditioner, daily damage defence and weather proof foam. I even swapped onto your radial brush which has reduced the amount of blow drying dramatically! I tend to blow dry my hair straight and then add back soft curls with the radial brush. I am doing anything wrong as my hair still breaks much more than it should or is it worth trying your vitamin supplements? Thanks for your help

I’ve found that the Elasticizer makes my hair really soft, i have coarse wavy hair. I’ve been washing my hair and leaving the Elasticizer in (like a leave in conditioner) as it makes my waves more curly – am i doing any damage by doing this?

What hair care products do you suggest which would not only treat the dandruff, tame the frizz, give me shine and gloss and volume – I want everything out of my products :)

I’d love to enter the competition but have no question to ask! All I would ask is why didn’t I discover Phillip’s range sooner?
For years I’ve suffered with seborrheic dermatitis which at first was mild but then started to spread. My GP kept prescribing steroid based treatments and treatment shampoos. I have thick, frizzy shoulder length hair and was finding it difficult to manage my hair and the condition. The GP shampoos were striipping my hair and it was a dry and extremely difficult to control.
    I eventually
paid to see a tricologist who recommended Phillips
range at about the same time as Elasticiser was a pick of the month last year. Along with that, I now use the flaky itchy scalp shampoo, scalp treatment and remoisturiser conditioner. My hair is in much better condition, far easier it control and more importantly, the SD has disappeared! I would not use anything else now.
I worried at first that the improvement was going to be short lived but it hasn’t been.
All I would say to Philip is a huge ‘thank you’. Like I say I have nothing to ask but if he could offer any further advice on what other products may benefit me, please could he recommend them?

Reading the posts it looks like I have the same problem as many other women.
I have to take a lot of medication and at the age of 69 my hair is thinning anyway.
Before medication and age it was fine hair with a bit of curl in it and it had to be cut very well in order to look its best.It gets frizzy in damp conditions and if I ‘glow’ (get hot) it also is effected by frizz.
I have tried many products but would appreciate Phillips advice on the way forward.

Im 51 and like a lot of women my age are reaching the menopause and on medications for one thing or another. My hair used to be thick and in good condition but now its thinning and its turned very fine. I wash and condition it daily but after a few hours its flat with no body at all. Would elasticizer work for me.?

I am in my early 50s and the older I get the curlier my hair gets. I also have it coloured (light brown) by my hairdresser. The curls are like ringlets if I leave them to dry naturally. My hair is also very thick.
I have tried every product on the market for anti frizz etc and they all seem to dry my hair even more so I would like to know what product I should be using to calm the wildness. Thank you

Hi, I have been using the Philip Kingsley fragrance-free conditioner which has really helped calm my frizzy curly hair, which I am happy to say is now just curly when using this conditioner. Its fantastic to stop the frizzies in hot humid climates (holiday in Thailand). I have always had very thick hair which is now thinning due to underactive thyroid. My question is would elastisizer help to put back some shine? I have also been colouring my naturally mousey hair to a blonde shade for some 40 odd years. I understand that the elastisizer is fragrance-free ? which would be good for me as I have always had a bad reaction with fragrance in products.

I use elastisizer twice a week, my hair is long naturally blonde going grey now I’ve hit 60! I don’t use any styling products etc, just shampoo and conditioner everyday, so could I use elastizer more often to keep it looking good or would that be a waste of product? I do like it.

My Mother is 85 and takes great care in her appearance. However her hair is very fine and can no longer take a perm. She is frightened to cut it too short as it would be very flat although her hair has a beautiful shine to it and salt and pepper colouring. She manages to roll it herself and lets it dry naturally but really needs some volume. Which of your (Philip Kinglsey) products would you recommend please. She has tried some of your products but they may not be the correct ones to use. Thank you.

I use hair mousse and hairspray but it still doesn’t hold. I’ve tried straight but it’s just too fine and lifless. What can I do? Many thanks.

I have dry coarse auburn kind of coloured hair (colour is hard to describe – it is my natural colour and it has some brown, red and even blonde strands). It is prone to dryness/frizziness and I have loads of it and it is long. I prefer to let it dry naturally (though I do blow-dry it in winter when it is too cold to have a wet head for hours). It takes hours to dry as… I’ve said I have loads and it looks less frizzy when it isn’t blow-dried. Therefore I don’t wash it daily as I know Philip recommends and I just wash it maybe twice/three times a week maximum. Therefore if I leave it a day too long to wash my scalp can feel dirty/greasy. What PK products would you recommend? I do use some already and have just ordered some more. Would I be right in thinking that the Body Building Shampoo and the Moisture Extreme Conditioner is a good combination for me? Thank you for your advice!!
